The Westin Tokyo

Located very close to Ebisu Station, with direct access to the underground parking lot, it offers excellent accessibility. The breakfast at the lobby restaurant on the first floor is of high quality, and I particularly like the onigiri (rice ball) station where you can order your favorite fillings using delicious rice. The club lounge on the 22nd floor is also spacious and offers views of Tokyo Tower and Rainbow Bridge.

It's a short walk from the Ebisu Station ticket gate. You'll find it after crossing Ebisu Garden Place. The underground restrooms had a baby changing table that could be used by both men and women. Smoking is prohibited inside the building, but there was a smoking area outside.

I think the only people who stay here are Marriott Bonvoy members. Given how extensive Tokyo’s train network is, I’m not sure why anyone would choose to stay at a hotel that’s a 10-minute walk from the nearest station. This is also a really old hotel that feels like it’s stuck in the 1990s. Parts of the hotel, such as the club lounge, look refreshed, but the rooms feel very dated. The Westin brand used to be very focused on wellness, but I found the gym here to be sorely lacking. It’s rather small and not very well-equipped, with a very odd layout. The club lounge is the nicest part of the hotel, in my opinion. The evening view of the Tokyo Tower is gorgeous.

Excellent Hotel beautiful views wonderfully attentive stuff

This was once a very popular hotel for Japanese celebrities, politicians, and the Tokyo elite when it first opened. My Tokyo Aunt told me they were famous for their buffets; she had in the past visited the Westin for business meetings, etc. The clientele has changed considerably. 90% foreign with people you would most likely find at low budget hotels in Las Vegas, Texas, or New Delhi. It seemed like there were big groups of people on discounted package tours with tour busses. Several times, customers would rush into the elevator without first letting you out. Many people were talking loudly on their phones and watching videos without headphones in public spaces. One woman was picking her nose and wiping it on her jacket. Staff is about 50% foreign. Some barely speak Japanese and default to English immediately. Many cannot write in Japanese; this was clear when they would write our name our in English instead of quickly writing it out in kanji (8 letters vs 2 easy kanji). Several of the staff rush around the restaurants--it feels like an obstacle course at times, dodging staff carrying large trays of dirty dishes while they cut corners. There are many kids running around the buffet area unsupervised. One morning I saw a child cough all over the bread section of the buffet. The miso was extremely salty everyday, it was barely edible. We moved rooms part way though our stay. Our second room was about 20% larger and the bathroom was much nicer/updated. The one, very large positive--rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff were polite and professional. There are many options while visiting Tokyo. Choose wisely.

Wonderful experience. Rooms are in great shape, the views are gorgeous. The service is phenomenal, just as you would expect. Located within 5 minutes of large grocery store and convenient stores, and the train station is a 7 minute walk away. We truly enjoyed our stay here.

In a good way, it retains a strong sense of the grand hotel atmosphere from the Heisei bubble era, and I love its gravitas and splendor, which are different from the minimalist and modern hotels of today. The scale and sense of luxury, which are rarely seen in newly opened hotels these days, are superb. On the other hand, the guest rooms have been renovated, retaining a classical sense of luxury while the design and facilities are modern. The gravitas of the grand hotel in the common areas and the modern comfort of the guest rooms coexist beautifully, and I felt that this balance is the charm unique to the current Westin Tokyo. The Westin Club lounge, which was moved to the top floor (22nd floor) after the renovation, is not particularly large, but the food and drink lineup was more extensive than I expected, making it a highly satisfying lounge that I wanted to use multiple times during my stay. Also, the chocolates sold at the hotel are very delicious. The Earl Grey and Gianduja in particular were memorable and I recommend them as souvenirs or for yourself. Buying them as a memento of my stay was the right decision. While many hotels these days prioritize sophisticated design, I believe the Westin Tokyo is a rare exception, successfully combining the grandeur of a classic grand hotel with modern comforts at a high level.

It’s been around a while and it’s understated class. Everything is well run in and the staff deliver in every aspect with no fuss. The concierge is utterly superb.

I often go there for buffets. The cakes are great, of course, but the rice balls and curry are especially delicious.

Excellent hotel in Tokyo. Nestled in a quiet area. Good breakfast buffet, amazing executive lounge, great sauna. All staff was amazing. The manager was especially helpful with everything, including figuring out transportation to the airport.
