The room did make me a little anxious, with the new wood being stripped away a bit, and a few small stains in the bathrooms, but all of the judgement was turned around talking to the receptionist. She was extremely kind, talkative, and took time out of her day to tell us all the right places to see in Brussels. Give her a raise!

Perfect location, service a bit mediocre, the hotel itself needs a facelift

A fair deal, but one thing to be aware of beforehand: The rooms are run-down by European standards, but the fantastic central location makes them relatively inexpensive. The receptionist, who had already sampled a surprisingly large number of beers, was extremely friendly and does a fantastic job. Overall, it's a good option as a place to sleep. Anyone planning to spend more time in their room and wanting to feel comfortable would be better off elsewhere. During our stay, there was a free wake-up call (fire alarm at 7 a.m., which, due to a lack of staff, wasn't deactivated for 20-25 minutes).

Excellent central location near the Grand Place. The property needs renovation, especially the bathrooms. The room was quite spacious and basic. Unfortunately, it wasn't adequately soundproofed, and you could hear your neighbors very well. However, the staff was quick to respond and left earplugs on the bedside table.

Honestly, I don't understand the bad reviews for this hotel. It's a small, simple hotel right in the center of Brussels, just a 10-minute walk from the Grand Place. For the price, the rooms are perfectly adequate, comfortable, and ideal for spending a night in the city center without breaking the bank. Obviously, it's not a palace, but that's not what you're looking for when booking this type of hotel. If you just want a practical, well-located, and affordable place to sleep, it does the job perfectly. And we received a very warm welcome from a truly pleasant and smiling young woman, which made our stay even more enjoyable as she gave us some great recommendations.

Extremely disappointing experience with this establishment. I made a reservation by mistake and cancelled it only a few minutes later. Despite this almost immediate cancellation, the hotel showed absolutely no flexibility and refused to make any exception. This complete lack of understanding and customer care is quite shocking. In a city like Brussels, where you expect a certain level of professionalism, this kind of attitude is very hard to accept. Even though I had taken out insurance at the time of booking, no solution or goodwill gesture was offered. This level of rigidity leaves a very negative impression. I strongly recommend being extremely careful before booking here, as no room for error seems to be tolerated, even in obvious situations.

Fantastic! The receptionist was like a true tour guide; we followed all her advice and tried all the restaurants she recommended, even with gluten intolerance. It was magical! Thank you so much! The hotel is clean, charming, and well-located, with parking nearby, making it easy to get around on foot or by metro. I highly recommend it.

Hello! We stayed one night. On the way to Brussels we read some of the very bad reviews it had gotten in the past and was quite terrified when we arrived in Brussels, so much so that we we're hesitating on whether or not to just book a different hotel. We chose to at least go check it out before doing so, and were greeted by a very nice receptionist and quite a clean lobby which was comforting. The room itself was definitly not the best, it smelled a little bit of mold, it smelled of sewer in the bathroom and overall quite rough, and the breakfast was not worth the price in our opinion. But, it was not the total catastrophy that we were imagining, for a night it was ok. On the bright side, the staff were generally very nice and informative, and the location is quite amazing tbf. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, but if you're like us and booked before seeing the reviews then it's fine, you will survive :) 2/5 overall

Shameful. The new owners have trashed a hotel and Art Deco building reminiscent of an ocean liner. Look at the old photos. It was unique. Now it's pure vandalism: furniture and the bar counter have been ripped out, the bluestone steps have been ground down by some handyman for a concrete hopper. What is Urban?, the Brussels planning department, doing? These iconoclasts deserve hefty fines for damaging heritage. The statues were already smashed last year.

A great experience for one night in the center of Brussels. At reception, we were greeted by Zina, a very kind person who gave us advice on sightseeing and recommended some great places to eat. We highly recommend this well-located hotel.
