Aire des Amoudries (Cruising)

The Aire des Amoudries is a motorway rest area on the A503 axis near Charleroi that has a long-standing reputation as an informal gay cruising (drague) spot, documented on French-language cruising directories. Activity is most common in the evenings and after dark; like any highway aire the crowd is mixed — gay men, others and travellers passing through — so it is not an exclusively gay space. Belgium is a safe, progressive country and consensual adult activity is legal, but public cruising areas always carry personal-safety and discretion considerations.
