Aire des Amoudries

The Aire des Amoudries is a motorway rest area near Charleroi that French-language cruising directories have listed for years as an informal gay cruising spot. Reports put most activity in the evening and after dark. As at any motorway aire, the people there are a mix of truckers, travellers and cruisers, so it is not a gay space as such. We cannot confirm current activity. Same-sex relationships face no legal issues in Belgium, but sex in public places is an offence and police do check rest areas. Stay aware of your surroundings, don't leave valuables in your car, and tell someone where you are going.
