Kıbrıs LGBTQ+ Film Festivali 2026

Queer Wave is Cyprus's LGBTQIA+ film festival — a young but fast-growing event that has done a lot to put queer cinema in front of Cypriot audiences. It is held in Nicosia, the divided island capital, and the 2026 edition runs in the second half of September; the organisers publish the exact dates and programme closer to the time, with recent editions held at the Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre.

Over its run it screens features, shorts and documentaries from around the world, with talks and guests, in a country where queer visibility is still relatively new — which is part of what makes it matter. It is run by Queer Wave, a non-profit set up to make more queer cinema accessible on the island.
