Phoenix gay Sauna

With these prices, it's only a matter of time before the sauna goes bankrupt. It was already uninteresting before, and with the new prices, it's even worse.

27 euros for entry????????? They're crazy! Yes!!! No! I actually wanted to go, but not for that price.

I've really had enough of this sauna. The entrance fee is now €27. That's quite steep for less and less in return. The place is run-down, one of the two saunas is shut down and being used for storage, supposedly due to increased energy costs. One shower is broken. The others barely work either. The water doesn't get properly hot. The lighting is poor in many areas. The stair covering is uneven, and the steam room smells of urine. The loungers in the relaxation area are broken. Some of the mattresses are also damaged. There's no hair gel or body lotion, and no disinfectant either. After the salt and honey infusion, there are no more free towels, the prices on the drinks and food menu are high, and the obviously new staff member is overwhelmed. The ashtray in the smoking area isn't emptied. The restrooms are barely acceptable. The atmosphere among the visitors is rather bad, partly due to the conditions. In short: This place is on the decline and, if things continue like this, has no future. It's a real shame.

Just reached the place and I decided not to enter. The guy at the reception was so rude that I came back. I do not deserve that lack of respect to a customer. Not more, I don't recomend this place to anyone.

A truly terrible sauna... The place is located in a very cramped basement and isn't very large. Everything is quite old, but renovations seem to be a foreign concept. There's no pool, just a medium-sized whirlpool. Besides the Finnish sauna, which is okay, there's a bio sauna. However, this is permanently switched off for "energy-saving reasons," despite the outrageously high entrance fee of €25. It gives the impression that they're trying to squeeze every last penny out of the place before the sauna closes completely. The clientele was a) very, very small (around ten people were there at any one time) and b) quite elderly. It was clean, though, as far as I could tell. Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful (thanks to "Dani" from Ukraine), while others were downright rude and curt (another younger person, whose name I don't remember). In short: This is the wrong place for wellness and relaxation. Unfortunately, it's also not suitable for a pleasant cruise with interesting people.

It stinks of feces in some places, the steam room is unusable and reeks of urine… The staff doesn't seem to think to do a cleaning round. Very disappointing. 1 star for the staff and the atmosphere in the restaurant area. Once and never again. Thanks a lot. Sauna testers Sergio and Sandro recommend driving 30 minutes or more to the Pluto Sauna in Essen. For energy-saving reasons, one sauna is not in operation. However, there is no sign of this at the entrance. Beware of rip-offs! Thanks a lot.

The personnel gives its best to keep this place clean and sexy. Visitors for all preferences. Very nice experience.

Unfriendly and xenophobic... On my last visit, I wanted to re-enter on the same day and presented my ticket from my initial visit in the afternoon. "We don't offer that," was the short, nasal reply from the server. After I insisted that the colleague from the afternoon had confirmed the possibility of re-entry, the employee finally found it in the system after a brief search. "Ah yes, there... Re-entry," he said, handing me a towel and key without a word of apology or anything similar, and let me in. A certain blasé attitude is common among many employees of gay-friendly restaurants and saunas, but when the guest knows more about the services offered than the staff, things get complicated. It becomes completely unacceptable when one minority group discriminates against another: Just before the sauna infusion, a middle-aged guest, who looks somewhat foreign, enters the sauna cabin and sits down on the bench without a towel. "Towel!" barks the sauna attendant, and again, "Hand-Towel," when the guest looks at him, confused. "I don't speak German," the guest says in broken German. "Well, you're already speaking German then," replies the employee, panting on (of course, in German), "you have to put your towel down in here... hand towel!!!" The guest is so confused and intimidated that he leaves the cabin before I have a chance to translate it for him in English. It's a shame, the sauna itself is a small city sauna on two and a half levels—but sometimes that doesn't matter. After what happened, I can hardly recommend it. Zero customer service and xenophobic to boot? Shame on you!

The steam sauna is incredibly well-designed. The staff are professional and very friendly ;)
