The monument is a small stone plinth topped with a bronze dove; the inscription in Italian reads *"Per l'intelligenza. Al cielo. Al mare. Alla libertà."* ("For intelligence. To the sky. To the sea. To freedom."). A separate plaque added in 2015 by the Circolo Mario Mieli specifically identifies the murder site as a place of queer historical significance.
