Maspalomas Dunes

We had an excellent stay at the hotel. It’s very modern, immaculately clean and staff were great. The pools and aqua park are fantastic. Food is lovely. One of the best all inclusive hotels I have ever been to.

As a family of 8 adults and 4 children we are sat in the airport waiting to go home after a 2 week stay. First off, the Hotel is 2 Hotels together, that all guests can use - sharing restaurant / pool areas etc. quite a good set up in that regard. We stayed in the maspalomas princess side, the other is the Tabaiba. The good - The outside of the hotel, reception area is immaculate. Really nice and open and pleasant. The bar staff, restaurant staff were all lovely and can’t fault them at all. We also really enjoyed the kids mini disco and evening entertainment. Yes there was a lot of miming of some of them, but they also had outside acts come in who were really good! We stayed at the Riu up the road previously and the entertainment wasn’t as good there. The main disco entertainment area is in the side we stayed in, and the other side is a quieter more chilled side, usually with a singer on also. There was plenty of pool side beds, although if you wanna be right by the pool you have to get up early. And if you leave your towels on the beds without anyone being there, the pool guy WILL remove all your stuff. The pool area is clean and tidy and well kept by pool staff. There is also multiple pools, and the big one we used didn’t allow balls or inflatables (which was actually good as the middle pool which does allow it, was like the Wild West lol!) Adult only section was good! Can book big comfy beds for €25 but it’s first come first serve. The Bad : Rooms were really not good. Smashed flooring as you walked in. Lights flickering, smashed bathroom tiles, sockets falling off the wall. Beds were absolutely shocking, stiff, feel every spring and you get one long skinny pillow (not good) also, down the side of the side draws, there was a big bundle of previous guests hair and dust 🤢 despite complaining multiple times about it, it was never cleaned and was still there to our last day. Multiple times our room just wasn’t cleaned. Had to go to reception to get clean towels. And the aircon was rubbish. It was 30+ degrees outside. We like to go into your room and it be really cold. It’s the only relief you get from the heat. We complained multiple times and were told that by law they don’t have to go lower than 18 degrees and that was that . Online it says you can request late check out. We asked the day before (as we were told too) and were told we couldn’t have one as none available. We had 4 kids to get sorted for a 5:30pm pickup. Once we pushed and pushed the reception lady, suddenly one of our rooms was available to keep till 6pm .. paid for of corse. Reception staff not helpful at all to be honest. All in all we had a good holiday, but I probably wouldn’t return. If you have booked up don’t get too worried - the rooms are liveable, just not up to the standard we expected and enough to put us off returning. (Pics attached) Room 0149 ground floor, but we had 4 rooms and they were ALL the same.

So let’s start with the bad. No air conditioning at reception and no welcome drinks. And boy was it hot and we were thirsty Only two out of three desks open to receive arrivals so made to wait in the heat without a drink after a long journey. Just wanted to get to our room and have a meal. Room was tired and certainly not 4* standard. AC rubbish, just made a really annoying noise. Flooring is damaged in a few areas in our room Toilet seat broken Safe had “low battery” All sockets were not secured correctly and pulled away from the wall when removing appliances. Shower hose had blown NO coffee in room. NO replenishment of water after the first bottle. NO replenishment of tea or milk either. This is unusual for a Princess as the Suite Princess gives you daily water and tea and coffee replenishment. After three complaints, the batteries were replaced in the safe, the air conditioning was made slightly cooler and the shower hose replaced. I am a guest, I should not have to supply a snagging list for our room. 2001 by the way. Lifts were awful and kept breaking down and were always slow. Nighttime ents were crap. Beyond belief. Mainly in house miming. Walked away most nights. The Italian and Asian “special dining” were anything but. Worst pizza I have ever tasted. Poor service and even worse reception experience. We’re were early but kept standing in the heat. Felt as though we were an inconvenience all night. There are not enough staff in either. Good stuff. Pool area. Pool bars. Pool cafes. Cleanliness of pol areas. Availability of sun-beds. Food in main restaurant, service and available tables. Overall we won’t go again. Main Food and pools great. Special dining, room standards and reception appalling, shame as this is not normal for the Princess chain.

Superb hotel, very clean, well-maintained, varied and very good food, themed evening at the restaurant, pools for adults and children (with supervision), truly a top-notch stay.

Beautiful hotel complex, spacious, so that everything is well distributed. Neat, clean, well-maintained, with plenty of greenery. Good food, great service. As a tip, definitely wear water shoes; the gravel around the pools gets very hot. Drawback - the long walk to the beach (25-30 minutes on foot - no shuttle). Lots of entertainment, varied evening shows. Aquapark and Kids Club included. Great for families.

It's great for the kids and I love everything about it.

Amazing place, everything you need is here - shop, doctor (hopefully not needed), arcade, cycle hire and even 2 restaurants. There is a small supermarket outside, plus bus to Maspalomas itself. Choice of food is massive, loads of food places as well during the diet to cater for all sorts of diets. Only 1 thing 1 didnt like, is lack of air conditioning, although reception gladly suplied us with a plug in fan for the bedroom. Staff were very helpful and always approchable. Video's on Youtube people have done, won us over - then we got here and were blown away.

We have already been here for the 4th. Time here and have never been disappointed so far. The food is varied and sufficient. It is always replenished quickly. The staff is friendly and helpful. 1 star deduction for the rooms and the bar. The rooms are absolutely okay, but slowly in need of renovation in one or two places. The cleanliness is also fine. It could sometimes be cleaned better, mirrors etc., but all in all, there is hardly anything to complain about. At the bar, they could offer coffee from a professional machine in the evenings and not just from the vending machine. The children's pools with slides are a highlight for our 2 children. The in-house kids' club as well as the Tui KidsClub also do an excellent job, even if our two children are slowly outgrowing it. They are still always welcome to participate in everything, and there is also the MaxiClub that older children can participate in. Here, too, the supervisors/entertainers are totally great in their interactions with the children. Another important reason why we keep coming back is the animation team. Both the offerings and the entertainers appeal to us. No matter who from the animation team (Vivi, Deniz, John, Sandra, Manu etc. we love u all) is there for the "games," they are always in a good mood, ensure a good atmosphere, and make sure that you have fun and that it's not just about the competition. Best animation in a hotel we have ever had. My only 2 wishes for the full stars: Coffee from a professional machine and more volleyball than just Wednesday and Friday 😋

Huge complex, very well maintained, very nice rooms, impeccable welcome, ADORABLE entertainment team (o'voyage), large choice of dishes (sometimes average), not bad pools especially adults only😋, charming environment, you don't get accosted from all sides when leaving the hotel, and ideal climate 😍

This is our third year as a family at this hotel. We love to return because we find everything: fun, an all-inclusive experience rated 10, kindness from the staff, and exceptional stays. What they should consider is putting more umbrellas and changing the hammocks.

The short 20-minute walk was waaaay longer. But it was totally worth seeing in person, go early.

Fantastic place

It wasn't my first time visiting; the place is spectacular, you feel like you're in the middle of the desert. They're currently cordoned off, limiting access to a path that leads to a beach on one side and a lighthouse on the other. I highly recommend visiting them. The only "negative" thing I noticed is that to get there you have to walk through part of a hotel, which I found quite strange. You don't actually enter the hotel, but you do walk through a hotel archway; it's rather odd, to be honest.

Good relaxant

Visiting the Maspalomas Dunes was an unforgettable experience and undoubtedly one of the most spectacular stops on our trip to Gran Canaria. This golden desert on the ocean shore offers breathtaking views that constantly change with the wind. Walking on the fine sand and climbing the dunes offers a unique sense of peace and freedom, especially at sunset, when the colors of the sky reflect on the sand, creating a truly magical atmosphere. A true natural paradise, clean and well-preserved, an absolute must-see for anyone visiting the island!

Very picturesque, make sure to avoid going during the peak heat times. The views are interesting of the beach nearby! 😂

Amazing dunes. You can climb them, just stick to the path. Some areas are closed to protect nature. The view is simply magnificent. Be careful, the sand gets very hot at midday. Stunning sunsets in the dunes.

Very disappointed, it's just okay.

A mock desert. Walking along the shoreline, you pass one dune, beyond which two more await. Then two more. And so on endlessly. You feel like you're about to reach the end, and the desert replies, "Not so fast." The worst part is that each dune looks like the last one before the end, so you stubbornly go to investigate. And beyond that, there are more. This is what makes a walk in Maspalomas more than just a stroll on the beach.
