Kelvingrove Park (cruising)

There are places in Glasgow that seem to hide away in the Muggle world, and Kelvingrove Park is undoubtedly one of them. It's a pretty and pleasant park for a stroll, though not particularly large, so you can explore it quite quickly. A small stream runs through it, meandering among the paths as if someone had let a tiny tributary of Hogwarts' lake escape. It also has a small amphitheater where concerts and other events are held. During our visit, there was one going on, and the music could be heard throughout much of the park, giving it a particularly lively atmosphere. But perhaps the most interesting thing about Kelvingrove isn't its paths or gardens, but its inhabitants. Birds, crows, and other creatures that seem to have stepped straight out of a Harry Potter book appear everywhere. There are also quite a few squirrels, moving among the trees with the diligence of little house-elves with urgent matters to attend to. However, not all the creatures we encountered were so endearing. On several occasions, we came across some rather large rats, and that's when the magic began to fade slightly. You start to wonder if, behind the trees and hedges, there isn't a second, perfectly organized rodent society, patiently waiting for visitors to leave the park. Joking aside, the number and size of the rats made us question the extent to which the park's cleanliness and hygiene are being properly maintained. All in all, the visit was pleasant. It's not a park that requires hours and hours of exploration, but it's a good place for a stroll, to encounter some unexpected creature, and, with a bit of luck, to hear music as you walk. In short, a small green corner with a certain magical charm in the heart of Glasgow. Recommended for a visit, although I would advise keeping your eyes peeled: you never know what creature might appear from behind the next bush.

We watched the commonwealth games here on the big screen. Glasgow did them well with footage interviews and a piper. Also interviews with athletes. Well laid out with attractions for families.
