Novotel London Blackfriars

This is a charming hotel, beautifully decorated, the nicest service, excellent location, highly recommended.

Fantastic roof terrace. Amazing staff

Front office and reception service absolutely atrocious. Booked a late checkout a few days before and again confirmed on the morning if all was in order. Well was locked out the room. Ordered a London cab to the airport and told it would take 10 Minutes. A bit later was told it was two minutes away. Well after 15 minutes nothing had arrived , so made own arrangements. Air conditioner in room did not work properly nor in lifts. Lifts take ages to come. Could take as long as 12 minutes to get from 4 th floor to Ground floor. Pressure in shower very week and no cupboards In bedroom. Was asked at reception on booking in how often we wanted room cleaned, opted for every second day. Did not happen like this. Location is excellent and all main underground lines easily accessible on the Jubiee line at Southwark station.

Very nice, stylish hotel in a good spot. Rooms big enough (no more). Very low water pressure, but otherwise comfortable. Decent but often loud lobby bar and breakfast set up but as a restaurant Albi’s is mediocre.

While passing by this place, my girlfriend twisted her ankle and we suddenly found ourselves collapsing toward their outdoor tables. One of the staff members working at the bar noticed us right away and immediately came over to ask if we needed anything. He kindly prepared some ice for her and made sure we were okay. He truly made our day better, and we really appreciate having such caring people around. Thank you for working with such wonderful staff! We also wanted to make this thank-you a bit more specific: this happened on May 16th, around 3 PM, and he was working behind the bar at the time.

Stay here every time I'm in London, always a fantastic service from the team, location is ideal too.

My wife and I came on our honeymoon for our last night before returning home. At the front desk after a strenuous trip to arrive we were greeted by William who was terrific. Great demeanor and after letting him know it was our honeymoon he surprised us with a room upgrade with a card! Really made the end to the trip special. Thank you!

The hotel is excellent - new, clean, and well-organized. The location is sensational, close to a subway station, the river, and numerous nearby restaurants, supermarkets, and pharmacies. The staff is incredibly attentive and helpful. My only complaint was the frequent noise coming from the room upstairs—specifically, the sound of furniture being dragged across the floor. Additionally, the room itself is small; however, considering it is London and the price point, it offers great value.

Thanks for hosting our works night out. You were not ready for the level of drunk we all got. But you still put on a great night.

I visited yesterday for a quiet drink while answering emails. The service from Kennedy (at the ground floor bar) was excellent. It turns out we both grew up in Battersea area!

Let’s face it, this place is okay. Just about. The rooms are okay. The food is okay (actually the breakfast is less than okay), the drinks okay. The staff try their best…but the place sets itself up to be so much more than just a pretty bog-standard hotel, which is what The Hoxton is.
