Wonderfull place on a cozy hidden street of Ollantaytambo! Extremely helpful and kind people. Comfortable rooms and great hot showers. Highly recommended.

A great, chilled and relaxing hotel. Located only 5 minutes from the main square. Check in and out was quick and smooth. Breakfast was tasty. The staff were all really welcoming and friendly. The garden around the lodge was lovely, especially the hammocks. I’d happily stay here again. A few opportunities to improve. Getting to the hotel with luggage isn’t easy because of the cobbled streets, whilst the hotel offers a luggage service, we weren’t aware of this before we arrived. Perhaps a message beforehand to guests would be helpful. We appreciated the hotel dropping our luggage off in the central square after we checked out. The temperature of the water in the bathroom was inconsistent. Sometimes it was hot and other times it was barely warm enough for a shower.

A wonderful and comfortable place to connect with the town of Ollantaytambo. The hotel is very welcoming, from its gardens and wooden rooms to the beautiful flowers that decorate the place, creating a very special atmosphere. Fantastic stay at Apu Lodge. A truly charming place, with a super attentive team always ready to help. Despite our early mornings, breakfast was always ready and meticulously prepared. They also made all the arrangements (guide, pickups, etc.) much easier, which made the trip much more comfortable. We were very happy. We highly recommend it.

I've had the pleasure of staying at Apu Lodge three times — once in 2022 and twice in 2025 — and it never disappoints. Ollantaytambo is a special place, and Apu Lodge is the perfect base for exploring the Sacred Valley. After long days of trekking, the cozy rooms and peaceful atmosphere are exactly what you need to recover. The staff genuinely care about their guests and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. One of my favorite hotels in all of Peru.

Absolutely a hidden gem and I’m so glad we stayed for 3 nights with our family . From warm greetings and help with out luggage to the beautiful gardens with fruits and flowers everywhere we couldn’t have asked for more in such a magical town . Also having the inka ruins directly behind the lodge is such a nice way to go a hike and explore . I highly recommend and can’t wait till we can return again one day .

Shout-out to the wonderful staff here! They all went above and beyond our expectations—very friendly, helpful, and passionate. We especially enjoyed our conversation with Jose, who shared incredible advice on hiking and touring, as well as insights into the local history and culture. We loved our stay so much that we ended up extending it to five nights. The lodge is beautifully decorated, surrounded by stunning mountains, and features a quiet, colorful garden. The location is convenient—just a two-minute walk to the main plaza—but it’s not accessible by car. The staff kindly help carry your luggage to the lodge, which is much appreciated. One small issue was that the drainage in one of the rooms we stayed didn’t work as well, and the bathroom window had a gap that allowed moths to fly in at night. However, this didn’t reduce our appreciation or enjoyment of our stay.

My husband and I stayed at Apu Lodge for three nights and absolutely loved it. Tucked just off the main path yet still an easy walk to everything in Ollantaytambo, it felt peaceful and perfectly located. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the fresh, delicious breakfast each morning was a highlight. A very special mention to Edgar, who provided our transportation to and from Cusco and offered unforgettable tours along the way. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and an incredible value, he truly made our stay extra special. Be sure to ask the lodge for Edgar for any transportation needs!
