The Broadview Hotel occupies a striking corner building at Broadview Avenue and Queen Street East, a Victorian commercial building constructed in 1891 that spent most of the twentieth century as a downmarket hotel and was transformed into one of Canada's most celebrated boutique hotels in its 2017 renovation. The hotel is explicitly welcoming of LGBTQ+ guests — the ownership and culture are inclusive in a way that goes beyond corporate policy — and the building's location in Riverside/Leslieville puts it close to some of Toronto's best bars, restaurants, and the streetcar connections that reach the Village in under 15 minutes. The rooftop terrace and bar is one of Toronto's most coveted summer venues, with views across the city skyline and the Don Valley; the ground-floor restaurant is a serious dining destination. The 58 rooms are individually designed and reflect the building's Victorian bones with contemporary fittings. For visitors who want to stay in a genuinely interesting building with a story and a soul, rather than a chain hotel near the Village, the Broadview is the answer.
