Elsah'taki Green Tree Inn

Just got back from staying two nights with my wife. Great place to enjoy Grafton or Alton area but also a peaceful getaway from every day routine. The breakfast each day was very filling & not ordinary. Gourmet level coffee that begs for refills. Would definitely stay here again. The owners were more like your best nieghbours then proprietors. A top shelf find. Thanks for a great time. Tom & Barb

We just stayed last night and was such a great experience and a neat place.The breakfast was amazing.Would highly recommend.

Quaint little place is a Historical small town. The drive was beautiful and the people are so nice!

My sister and I had an amazing stay last weekend. Connie, Gary, and Meghan were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived. Our room was beautiful and spacious. Delicious homemade breakfast and conversation the next morning was so wonderful . We can’t wait to come back!

I stay at the Green Tree 7/25 - 7/27/25. Connie and Gary are very nice people. She makes great breakfast and the afternoon sweet treats are amazing. My room was comfortable and inviting. I slept well each night. The common room where the breakfast is at every morning is relaxing. The gift shop offers home made items. I purchased the bread & butter pickles and peach preserves I would stay here again

The Green Tree Inn of Elsah is the perfect bed & breakfast in the most charming town!! Connie and Gary are the perfect couple to own, and run such an establishment. Everything was absolutely perfect - the location, our room, the evening sweet treats, and delicious breakfast each morning. We walked around this perfect little town each day, and every resident we encountered was delightful. We will absolutely be going back!

Had the best weekend getaway with my husband and parents at the Green Tree Inn! Connie and Gary are wonderful hosts - really made us feel welcome and at home. Very friendly, attentive and helpful with lots of great suggestions of things to do in the area. Connie even offered to take us to the the museum herself (unfortunately couldn’t take her up on it due to our time constraints). The homemade breakfasts and afternoon sweets were amazing! Worth the trip just for the food. The inn is charming and very comfortable. We played their card and board games in the common living room both nights we were there. So much fun! The location is also perfect - historic village of Elsah is beautiful and peaceful. Wonderful experience! We will be back

Green Tree Inn was a very unique location. The Inn offered a serene setting creating the perfect escape from the everyday rush. Every detail seemed thoughtfully designed to create a sense of calmness and comfort. Connie and Gary were very accommodating hosts providing homemade yummy sweets and a filling breakfast followed by genuine conversations. They also provided great recommendations for local restaurants and tourist attractions. Looking forward to our next stay with them!

My sister and I spent a lovely night at the Green Tree Inn in charming and historic Elsah, Illinois. This was our first visit to the Inn and we would definitely stay there again. Our hosts Connie and Gary were so accommodating and friendly! We felt like we were guests in a friend's home. The room and beds were very comfortable - we had a delicious homemade breakfast in the morning - and fresh peanut butter cookies upon arrival! I personally also liked the touch of cold water and sodas available at any time:) Thanks for a great stay!

We had an amazing stay with Connie and Gary and would absolutely stay with them again! They were wonderful hosts. Connie's homemade breakfasts were wonderful. In fact, we purchased her cookbook so we could continue having some of the treats she made for us. We loved everything about our stay. Lovely location, comfortable and clean lodging, very friendly hosts!
