East Austin Hotel

Great stay and event in The Den. Ava was awesome and helped us easily block rooms and a space for our meeting. Location is great - close enough to things without being too crazy (far better than SoCo). Beautiful pool, right amount of things available in the lobby, and really nice people!

This is an amazing hotel. Thoughtful decor, courteous staff, and the details are well-managed. Underground parking is available, and the location is central to all kinds of cool places, including walking to downtown 6th street bars and music scene. For this hotel you need to be comfortable with shared bathrooms/showers, but even this is well-managed and pleasant.

The hotel was well located, the room was very nice and quite large, and the pool was pleasant, but unfortunately, the room was very poorly soundproofed: it was difficult to sleep because of the street noise. Parking is rather expensive (€34/night), payable via an app. On the plus side, we received a $10 voucher for each night to use at the hotel restaurant. Finally, the staff weren't the most helpful or friendly... Despite everything, it was still a good experience.

This hotel was super cute!! First off they give you 2 free drink tickets for their rooftop bar. The rooms were decorated in kind of a modern but retro vibe and they were very large. It is a loft style where the bathroom and shower ceiling is open to the rest of the room but the small room with the toilet in the bathroom is closed off to the rest of the unit. There are no windows in the room, only a large glass door that you had to pull a curtain over. So it was a little dark in the room since there was not a ceiling light in the main room. There was a bug in our room, which is normal because its muggy weather in Texas and the hotel staff was incredibly accommodating about that. The area was very walkable and ubers to/from SoCo or downtown were about $7-18. There were tons of food trucks and great restaurants and bars around. You can also walk to all the open air bars on 6th street where the live music is. It was close to touristy areas and one day we explored the state capital. Overall it was very affordable and we enjoyed our stay here. I would stay here again!

Avoid this hotel! Although the rooms aren't terrible visually, the service and complete apathy from the staff were shocking. There was no hot water for two days, and upon citing this at check-out, the staff seemed to think this was normal (due to a power outage 5 days prior) and then told me that cold showers are ''good for people''. I told them that after flying 12 hours from Switzerland (they didn't seem to have ever heard of the country), no one wants a cold shower, and their response was that I ''needed to learn to take a joke.'' There was no apology, no voucher for a coffee or anything - just their sullen faces, bad attitudes and poor service.

We stayed at the Hotel for 4 nights in March to attend a conference. East Austin is wonderful and so is the hotel: comfortable and quiet with pool (March was in the 90s, so this was perfect). The adjacent Italian restaurant is out of this world - they cook at a level that makes Italians wonder…. I love steak but If you want to see a different side of Texas stay at the hotel, indulge in Italian cuisine and finish the night with a cocktail in the rooftop bar ! Life at its best …

Nice and clean rooms, helpful employees. Tons of good restaurants in the immediate vicinity. ( not to mention Poeta, which is in house. )

I didn’t stay at the hotel so not commenting on that part. I parked there to eat at the restaurant and faced issues getting my parking validated so I went to the hotel front desk for support. The front desk staff was antagonistic, not helpful, and accused me of not following directions even though I followed all their signs within the garage. She was outright rude, and I would have left the premises if the restaurant staff wasn’t so kind and helpful. I can’t imagine staying somewhere with staff that treats customers with so much hostility.

Had a lovely stay at the East Austin Hotel in a room with a shared bathroom -- would definitely stay again!
