Lightwell Hotel & Spa

This was such a great stay! The lobby bar was a nice perk, Jose the bartender was super friendly, knowledgeable, and made us some fantastic cocktails. Will absolutely be back again.

Great blend of historic, luxury, low key relaxing!

Unfortunately, their marketing played tricks on us. The “tiny” rooms are really tiny (low quality tv, broken window that is only probably 2ft by 3ft) and you feel like you’re in a cruise ship room. It’s so loud too from the pipes — you every toilet flush. The hotel is super overpriced. Their “spa” hot tub is chlorine in a dark basement that smells of fumes. They did not have the amenities they said they did (no mini fridge even after requesting). The rooftop bar was overpriced and very mid-tier, same with the cafe downstairs. Pretty disappointing for the price of the room.

I could not recommend Lightwell any higher! Becca and her team were all consummate professionals in every way, and the property itself was clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. If you are staying in or around Hood River soon, please go stay here!! You will not be disappointed. We will 1000% be back.

We so appreciated the beautiful venue and lovely servers- Grace went above and beyond to ensure our drinks and food were timely and delicious- - only reason not a 5 star is the management needs to provide appropriate staffing levels in the bar and restaurant.

Perfectly located in the center of Hood River. The staff is lovely and very helpful. We experienced a continuous noise during the night, likely due to a technical issue outside our room. The management was excellent and refunded us for the night.

Cute hotel! Terrible service. Staff is not trained well in hospitality at all. It’s a waste of an otherwise stunning space: spa is cute. Great massage. Just don’t expect them to turn over your room without requesting it. And when they finally, expect them to do a sloppy job.

I visited Hood River to celebrate Mother's Day and was looking forward to staying at this new hotel. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations. For example, the restaurant listed on the website was not open during my visit. The front desk lead staff member on duty was somewhat unprofessional when I inquired about the restaurant; she asked a personal question that could have been received as intrusive, though I chose not to react negatively. Additionally, I requested extra pillows, and was told I would be called back, but I did not receive a follow-up. When I called again after about 30 minutes, I experienced difficulty reaching staff, and after multiple calls, I finally spoke with someone who informed me they had no more pillows, somewhat dismissively. The only staff member who was notably helpful was the waiter at the rooftop bar. I believe the staff could benefit from additional training or supervision. The rooms are quite small, and the beds were somewhat uncomfortable given the warm weather, which impacted my overall stay.

This hotel in downtown Hood River is adorable, warm, and comfortable. The design feels thoughtful and inviting, with a calm, modern aesthetic that makes it easy to settle in right away. The location is ideal—walkable to shops, restaurants, and the waterfront—yet still feels tucked away and peaceful. Everything felt intentional, from the finishes to the overall experience. We would absolutely stay here again.

I absolutely love this hotel. I have stayed here a couple times with my wife and our five-year-old Bernedoodle. The hotel is brand new so everything is clean and modern. Where some of the rooms are a little quaint and cozy. You can definitely pay a little extra for one of the more spacious rooms if you’re someone who needs extra space. The dog friendly rooms are more than big enough for two people and a dog. The spa is one of the nicest that I’ve visited at a hotel. The giant soaking pool, sauna and cold shower that you can rinse off right there is amazing as a complimentary amenaty. The staff is super friendly and helpful so If your heading to Hood River this is the place to stay.

I've been coming here and working in the basecamp/bar side for months (as I work remote) and enjoying the atmosphere of the place. I love the coffee shop girls, they are so sweet. But today, I was in the middle of a work phone call and some lady came up to me from the Office and told me to be quiet. Not even in a nice way either. She did not wait till I was off my call either, and she could have closed her door as well but it was extremely rude and off putting to interrupt my work call but also...this is a space where people come to work all the time. I will not be coming back.

From top to bottom, this place is incredibly well-run and our stay on Sunday, 4/26 was absolutely perfect! A big shout-out to the masseuses, the concierge and the front desk lead for providing exceptionally warm and welcoming service. We will most definitely be back.
