Paia Inn Hotel

I cancelled my reservation at Paia Inn due to Hurricane Kiko and was told they would follow up regarding a refund. They never did. No response, no updates, and no refund despite waiting and reaching out. Being completely ignored during a stressful situation is unacceptable. The lack of communication and accountability is extremely disappointing, and I would think twice before booking here.

A great place from which one can enjoy the laid-back town of Paia.

Hotel leaves much to be desired for the price ! We stayed here because of the location to the road to Hana . Feels more like an apartment than a resort ! Love the cats that run around the property! Great little spot out back by the ocean , great views of the ocean ! The town of Paia is beautiful, friendly! Have to lark down the street in a different lot because the only have three spots in the back of the hotel !

Everything was honestly great. Very nice room, clean and well-equipped. Excellent service. Access to the beach where we had a beach all to ourselves.

Small hotel, located in a nice local village, secluded white sand beach with turtles nearby. We booked a large, intimate and cozy room, for those looking for 5 stars it is not. But it is different and special We were there one day before the road to Hana,

Many roaches in the room. Doesn’t worth the price. Great beach access.

Ah I loved our stay here so much! The Inn felt so cozy and welcoming. The staff are very kind and have great recommendations. Choice health bar for acai and paia fish market just steps away were our faves, you should also check out the health food grocery store for yummy snacks. The highlights of our room for me were the super large deck with the daybed, it was SO comfy we lounged on there for hours. The king bed was extremely comfy, wifi worked well, shower pressure was excellent, and the air conditioner throughout the unit was really great. I personally think they should change their second room that they currently have as a yoga room to another bedroom to accommodate more guests or kids 😊 I love that the inn has a little outdoor area that overlooks the beach with direct beach access. We were lucky enough to see a turtle there on our last day. The beach was really quiet all the time and it was ideal for watching the sunrises and sunsets. We also made friends with two cats on the property Sashimi and Ele’ele ❤️ so sweet

I initially reserved (in Feb 2025) the Paia Inn house for 2 weeks for this upcoming Christmas (2025). It stated a full refund if done by 12/1/2025. I paid the deposit of $4,250. A few days later, I cancelled as we decided to change the dates of our trip. I cancelled on 2/21/2025. I am STILL waiting for my refund.... no managers will return my calls. I did receive one email that stated they would refund me "ASAP"..... and I am still waiting..... 27 days later.

Great location but our $500+/night room was nothing like the photos. The property has been neglected. Dingy, dinged up, unmaintained room. The paint on the doors all around the doorknobs is brown and chipped from dirt and use. The room was furnished with broken down furniture and fixtures. The curtains were stained. The shower looked like one from a bad RV park - old fiberglass with mold in the seams. Lumpy pillows and cheap, rough linens. I didn’t feel clean staying there. Too bad - the place could be amazing with just a bit of upkeep and care.

My husband and I ended up stranded on Maui for a few days due to a flight cancellation. I really like the town of Paia and was looking for something on that side of the island to be closer to the airport then where we had previously been staying. The reviews for Paia Inn were all over the place but we went for it given the location. I can honestly say I do not regret staying here! If you are looking for a large, fancy hotel this is not your place. If you are seeking a cute little older boutique hotel in the perfect location in Paia, you have found your accommodations. The staff were very nice and the room was as described. Not fancy but cute and functional. There is daily coffee waiting for you in a nice little common area. The restaurant was under construction and not open, but you could see it was a good venue that we are looking forward to returning to when it reopens. The two options to go to the beach were awesome! The first one goes down a pretty walkway alley and ends at a nice ocean overlook area with plenty of seating. The entry to the beach here has lost a lot of sand due to the ocean doing its thing. You can go down to the water but it is rocky without the sand. Due to this, the Inn provides another access point a short walk down the street at their Surf Club location. This has a very easy access to the beach from a lawn area. If your expectations are as described above I highly recommend staying here. If you are seeking a fancy resort, maybe staying in Paia area is not for you and a day visit is more what you are seeking (smile).
