AMTD Idea Tribeca Hotel

Room, maintenance, and location was really nice but when we checked in we were told there'd be a charge of $344 if there were signs of smoking / vaping in our room. We are non-smokers, so it’s not even just the fact that we didn’t smoke in the room we simply just didn’t smoke at all. We tried contacting them about 3 times but they refused to refund it and just kept repeating that they have detectors. We also didn’t receive any emails or a receipt of the charge prior to it being taken, the only reason we noticed was through our bank account. There were no complaints about the hotel or room itself so it was very disappointing to see that we were taken advantage of. Not sure if they assumed they could get away with it because we’re young girls but be careful booking here.

We stayed at this hotel for the NY Knicks parade and had an excellent experience from start to finish. We arrived a day before the parade and stayed through the event, and the staff was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and professional throughout our visit. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it a great base for exploring Tribeca / SOHO and City Hall. One thing that really stood out was the level of service, the team even offered to securely store our belongings while we attended the parade, which made the day much more enjoyable and stress-free. The location, service, and overall hospitality exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting New York City.

I previously stayed at this property back when it was a Hilton, and honestly, not much has changed since the rebranding to AMTD Idea Tribeca — aside from the fact that you no longer earn Hilton Honors points. The hotel still gets the basics right. The location is excellent and highly convenient, and the rooms themselves are clean, functional, and perfectly fine for a stay in the city. However, the property is severely let down by its infrastructure. One elevator is completely broken and has been out of service for at least a year. The single remaining working elevator is painfully, excruciatingly slow. Waiting to get up to your room or down to the lobby requires a massive test of patience, especially during peak morning and evening hours. If you don't mind the elevator lottery or taking the stairs, it's a solid, clean place to crash in a great neighborhood. But management desperately needs to fix their infrastructure if they want to justify the stay.

Very nice room and lobby, but insane with only one elevator working

Excellent location.

Very nice hotel. Right next to the subway. The rooms are spacious and very clean, as is the bathroom. There are plenty of towels, a TV, and an iron. The common areas are also very clean. I recommend this hotel for a stay in New York.
