The Edge

The bouncer at the front basically harassed me and my friends this past friday (3/29/26). Upon arrival, he was very cold to my friends and after letting all of us in (with ID’s already checked), we ended up going to the bathroom. Not even a couple minutes pass and we hear loud banging on the door from said bouncer. Long story short, he kept yelling we don’t do that here (in reference to us using the bathroom), calling us immature, and forcing us to leave. He even continued to repeat those things and ended up saying he wishes we would kill ourselves. He berated us and we will never come back to this establishment again.

I have not been to a lot of bars in the Castro but by far, hands down, this one is my favorite. The music is always so fresh (and no endless jungle remixes) plus the atmosphere is consistently fun and lively. You wind up sitting next to someone and strangers actually talk to each other! My only note is that it would be perfect if there were enough space for dancing.

Refused entry here because I walked past “security”. I’m a 50+ man who didn’t initially show an ID. When I did, he refused to let me enter. How does this place stay in business?

Erick the bartender that was serving on the right end of the well on 10/21/2025 was EXTREMELY rude. I was waiting for a friend, SOBER as a whistle, whulst thinking about a couple of things around 10:20pm. Amongst thinking of things and waiting for friends, Erick approached me in a forceful, agressive and unpleasant manner. He asked me if I was buying drinks and when I told him no I was waiting for friends he told me it looked like I was sleeping and kicked me out. This was one of the first times ive been to The Edge and definetly the last. Will be speaking to higher managment ASAP

Ambiance is PERFECT but drinks are TERRIBLE, pregame before coming (espresso machine and its game over)

Very rude bartenders maybe they need a raise idk shouldn’t take it out on customers and they are not friendly towards lesbians

The drinks are inexpensive and stuh-rong. Most of the bartenders are nice, kind and attentive. I love Musical Mondays, but more than that I love going to a place that fills like a social pub for queers like me. At so many of the bars I used to patronize it feels like I've aged out. At the Edge it doesn't matter how old or young, skinny or fat, butch or femme. It's a neighborhood watering hole for everybody!
