Scandic The Mayor

On the positive side: The hotel is in a great location, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was good. Unfortunately, we experienced the following: There were pests in the basement, which we informed the staff about, but they did not seem to take any action. The hotel was also incredibly noisy. We could clearly hear conversations, crying, people using the bathroom, etc. from the neighbouring rooms. Eventually, I asked to change rooms. The new room was lovely, except that the water supply kept coming and going randomly, so we had to give up on taking a shower. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel.

I find it quite incredible that you have to pay DKK 100 if you arrive 1 hour early - I completely understand that it clearly states in the confirmation that the room is available at 4:00 PM, but I think it is incredibly bad service. I have stayed in countless hotels over the years, but I have never experienced this

I traveled alone and stayed in a nice and clean room with really good beds. I didn't get aches in my back from sleeping there - something I have experienced with other hotel chains previously. The staff were friendly and greeted us all the time - really good service throughout the stay. I arrived 2 hours before check-in was possible, and they were kind enough to let me leave my bags, so I could enjoy the city until the weather was right. The check-in itself was also easy and problem-free. The hotel is right in the city center, but you don't notice the noise at all. There was no traffic noise to hear, and even though I knew there were neighbors in the hallway, I didn't hear a sound from them. Very peaceful for a central location. The breakfast was fantastic! Funny detail: instead of bacon slices, they served bacon in small pieces/crouton-like form. A little different from what one is used to, but nice to try something new. Overall a really good trip at the hotel, which I can definitely recommend.

Was gone with my daughter. And wauw the new rooms are delicious and incredibly luxurious. I love the colors, the high comfortable bed and the huge shower cabin. It's something entirely different the little old rooms. All we missed was being able to stream on TV. But then we went to the bar and borrowed a game and got a delicious drink instead And the breakfast is as always delicious. It’s a bit like coming home when you’re having breakfast at scandic hotels. I love that I always know that I can do the same delicious things.

The room was impeccable: spotlessly clean, quiet, and thoughtfully designed, creating the perfect retreat after long and busy days. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and provided truly restful nights, ensuring I woke up refreshed and ready for each new day in Aarhus. One of the highlights of my stay was the outstanding breakfast buffet. Every morning offered a wonderful selection of Danish specialties, fresh breads, cheeses, fruits, and other local delicacies. A particularly charming touch was the waffle station, where guests could prepare their own freshly baked waffles exactly to their liking. It was the perfect way to start the day. Combined with the warm atmosphere and excellent service, the hotel made my stay both comfortable and memorable. I couldn’t have asked for a better home away from home.

Nice hotel after renovation. Rooms in the new wing are super lovely. Not least good beds. Good breakfast. Not least, the hotel is centrally located without noise and noise. Easy parking by the way

With pleasure I,ve spent 2 days in the Scandic the Mayor hotel in Aarhus. In do appreciate and fuily recomend this hotel for all of visitors. Very friendly hotel-team, very tasty breakfasts and nice hotel-bar. Jarosław Parzyszek, Białystok, Poland

In connection with OffDig 2026 we had booked a number of nights at Scandic The Mayor in Aarhus. But shortly before the conference we were informed that the hotel had not reached the goal with a renovation, so there would unfortunately not be room for everyone who actually had bookings. That’s why we were rebooked to Scandic Opus in Horsens. Unfortunately, we did not get the product we really expected. And since there were no alternative hotels to book near the Musikhuset in Aarhus, where the conference was held, we had to accept it if we wanted to go to the conference. That's why I'm not going to book nights at Scandic The Mayor again.

Tiny room with limited facilities. I did not believe a bedroom could be this small. Bathroom was small and limited.

Had a booking for one night over New Years. We had chosen a standard room and also added breakfast. The room was just fine. Pleasant lighting, comfortable beds and no noticeable noice from surrounding rooms or outside. The staff were very smiling and made it a lovely, though short, stay. The breakfastbuffet was also very lovely - as someone who tries to avoid too much gluten it was nice to see a gluten-free option already set up, so you didn’t have to ask for it in advance or ask the staff - it also wasn’t a “boring” gluten-free selection. Other than that there was a fine selection of bread and pastries, yoghurts, fruit, spreads and sweet treats. And it looked like many enjoyed the waffle-station. So we very much enjoyed our stay and would book again if another stay in Aarhus is necessary.
