The honest summary: Zaragoza is Spain's fourth-largest city, with about 727,000 people on the municipal register in 2025, the Basílica del Pilar on the Ebro and a tapas quarter, El Tubo, that keeps the old town busy every night. Its gay scene is much smaller than the city: a handful of pubs on one street, Calle Bernardo Fita, one men's sauna, a cinema-themed café-bar in the old town and a Pride march on 28 June. There's no gay barrio. Aragón Digital's 2025 Pride guide says so directly, while pointing out that the Bernardo Fita and Doctor Cerrada area is where the bars cluster. Come for the Pilar, the Mudéjar towers and the food. Plan on one or two late nights on Bernardo Fita rather than a weekend-long circuit.
Legal in one line: Spain has had same-sex marriage since July 2005 (Ley 13/2005), an equal-treatment law since 2022 (Ley 15/2022), and legal gender self-identification plus a ban on conversion therapy since Ley 4/2023. Aragón has its own two laws from 2018, Ley 4/2018 on gender identity and Ley 18/2018 against discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation, and both were still in force in October 2026.
Calle Bernardo Fita: the bar street
Almost all of Zaragoza's gay nightlife sits on one short street, Calle Bernardo Fita, in the 50005 postcode between Paseo de Pamplona and Calle Doctor Cerrada, south-west of Plaza de España. It's about 15 minutes' walk from the Plaza del Pilar. The bars are small and open late, mostly Thursday to Saturday. Spanish nights start late: nobody arrives before midnight at the weekend, and the street is quiet on a Tuesday.
Pub Imán (Bernardo Fita 1) is at the top of the street and has a terrace, so it's the usual first stop. Travel Gay, Aragón Digital and the 2026 bearwww guide all list it. It opens Thursday to Saturday from 20:00, until about 03:30 on Thursday and 04:30 at the weekend. Expect a mixed, friendly crowd and dance hits everyone knows.
Urano (Bernardo Fita 9) is the veteran. Aragón Digital describes it as more than 25 years old and one of the first venues in the city to make the LGTBI+ community visible. It's a pub with a dance floor and pop music. Google lists it as open Friday and Saturday from 23:30 to 04:30.
7° Venus (Bernardo Fita 15) is a small pub that Google lists as a gay bar, with a DJ and occasional go-go shows according to 2025–26 reviews. A review from August 2026 says it recently changed hands, so check that it's open before you count on it.
Away from the strip, 7º Arte Café at Calle del Olmo 14 in the Casco Antiguo is a cinema-themed café-bar. On Google and Instagram it presents itself as a gay bar under a rainbow flag, serving vermouth and cocktails Thursday to Sunday from 22:30. It's quieter, more of a drinks stop than a dance bar, and handy if you're staying near the Pilar.
Gay-friendly rather than gay: El Plata, the old cabaret at Calle Cuatro de Agosto 23 in El Tubo, runs drag, comedy and karaoke shows that several gay guides recommend. It's a mainstream venue with a mixed audience.
Sauna Nordik, at Calle Vidal de Canellas 18, is the only gay sauna in Zaragoza and is for men only. Its website lists a heated pool with bubble jets, a Finnish sauna, a steam room, video cabins and a bar, with towels and lockers included. It opens every day from 15:30 to 22:30, and on Saturday until 02:30; last entry is an hour before closing, and it closes on 24 and 31 December. Entry is €16 on weekdays, €14 on Tuesdays and for under-26s, and €18 at weekends. Some older guides still say Saturday until 06:00, which is out of date. Its Google Maps listing disappeared in 2026 while its website still showed current prices, so phone +34 976 353 923 before you make the trip.
We found no cruising club and no outdoor cruising area in Zaragoza with a current, reliable source, so we don't list one. The sex shops some old sites describe as having cabins appear only on one machine-written listing site, which isn't enough. Most men here use the apps. Sex in public places can be fined under municipal bylaws.
Community, health and support
Somos LGTB+ Aragón is the region's main LGBTQ+ association. Its Punto Visible office is at Calle San Pablo 131. It offers free rapid HIV testing by appointment, the SexInform sexual-health service and the Government of Aragón's integral LGTBI support service, and it helps people report discrimination. Get in touch before you visit, because the office is often empty while staff are out at trainings. OMSIDA and Médicos del Mundo Aragón also work on HIV in the city. For hate incidents, the city council's Casa de la Mujer (Calle Don Juan de Aragón 2) handles LGTBI hate crimes and offers victims psychological support.
Other groups worth knowing: AD Cierzo proLGTB+, the LGBTQ+ sports club behind the Juegos del Cierzo (the 19th edition ran 24–26 April 2026), and Elaios LGTB+, a sports club that celebrates its 20th anniversary in November 2026. Colectivo Towanda runs the queer film festival Zinentiendo, whose 20th edition was held at the Filmoteca de Zaragoza from 10 to 24 May 2025.
Pride and events
Orgullo LGTBI de Zaragoza is a political march organised by Plataforma 28J, a platform of about twenty local groups. It is held on 28 June in the evening. In 2026 it started at 20:00 on Sunday 28 June from the steps of the university's Paraninfo on Plaza Basilio Paraíso. It went along Plaza Aragón, Paseo de la Independencia, Plaza de España, the Coso and Calle Don Jaime I to the Plaza del Pilar, where the manifesto was read at about 22:00. The city council counted more than 5,000 people in 2024. The bars on Bernardo Fita hold pre-parties the same weekend. The 2027 date had not been announced at the time of writing, but 28 June 2027 falls on a Monday.
Queer parties in Zaragoza move between venues rather than having a home. Lamango and MangoXBollo, for example, have used Sala Supernova and other clubs. Check our Zaragoza events page and the organisers' Instagram accounts. Mid-October brings the Fiestas del Pilar (10–18 October in 2026). It's a huge mainstream street festival, and hotel prices rise steeply that week.
Closed, changed or never there
Women 2.0 (Bernardo Fita 11), the mostly lesbian bar many guides still list: the address is now Belushi, a stand-up comedy club with shows on sale in 2026. We found no current sign of Women 2.0.
Mick Havanna (Ramón Pignatelli), the old darkroom pub: only out-of-date listings mention it, and we found nothing from 2025 or 2026.
"Men" (Bernardo Fita 13), a leather cruise bar described on salir.com: its website no longer exists and no other source mentions it.
"Bar Andaluz" and "La Cava": some AI-written guides call these Zaragoza's gay bars. We found no evidence for either.
Calle de la Paz as a gay quarter: the scene is on Bernardo Fita, not around Calle de la Paz or the Plaza del Pilar.
Where to stay
Stay either in the Casco Antiguo, near the Pilar and El Tubo, or on the Paseo de la Independencia and Plaza de España axis. From there, Bernardo Fita is a 10–15 minute walk. Our Zaragoza hotels page lists central options from budget to five-star, all of them mainstream hotels. There are no gay hotels in Zaragoza.
Getting there: the AVE high-speed train reaches Zaragoza-Delicias in about 1 h 20 min from Madrid and about 1 h 30 min to 1 h 50 min from Barcelona, which is the easiest way in. Zaragoza airport (ZAZ) is mostly a cargo hub with a few low-cost routes, and Ryanair cut its flights in 2026.
Getting around: the centre is walkable, a tram line runs north to south through Plaza de España, and taxis are cheap by European standards.
Timing: the bars are busiest Friday and Saturday after midnight. The terrace at Imán fills earlier in the evening.
Weather: July and August are very hot, and the cierzo, a cold north-west wind, can make winter days raw.
A few words in Spanish

Not a gay barrio as such. The bars cluster on Calle Bernardo Fita, near Calle Doctor Cerrada and south-west of Plaza de España: Pub Imán at number 1, Urano at 9 and 7° Venus at 15. It's about 15 minutes' walk from the Plaza del Pilar. 7º Arte Café, on Calle del Olmo in the old town, is the only gay bar away from that street.
Four: Pub Imán (with a terrace, Thursday to Saturday from 20:00), Urano (open for more than 25 years, Friday and Saturday 23:30–04:30), 7° Venus (a small pub with a DJ, weekends) and 7º Arte Café (a cinema-themed café-bar in the Casco Antiguo). Women 2.0, the lesbian bar on Bernardo Fita, appears to have closed; its address is now a comedy club.
Yes, one: Sauna Nordik at Calle Vidal de Canellas 18, men only. It has a pool, a Finnish sauna, a steam room and video cabins. It opens daily 15:30–22:30 and on Saturday until 02:30, and entry is €14–18. Its Google listing vanished in 2026, so phone +34 976 353 923 before going.
On 28 June, as an evening march organised by Plataforma 28J. In 2026 it left the Paraninfo (Plaza Basilio Paraíso) at 20:00 on Sunday 28 June and ended at the Plaza del Pilar at about 22:00. The 2027 date had not been announced when we last checked.
Somos LGTB+ Aragón offers free rapid HIV tests by appointment at its office at Calle San Pablo 131. Contact them before you go, because staff are often out. OMSIDA and Médicos del Mundo Aragón also work on HIV in the city.
Generally yes. Same-sex marriage has been legal in Spain since 2005, and Aragón has its own anti-discrimination and gender-identity laws from 2018. Couples holding hands in the centre won't draw attention. Use normal late-night caution around the bar streets, and if something happens, the city council's Casa de la Mujer (Calle Don Juan de Aragón 2) handles LGTBI hate crimes.
