Hotel La Yegua Loca

My experience was at the restaurant. A very pleasant and welcoming place with excellent service. Juan, the waiter, was super professional and friendly. He explained in detail what calafate was, gave me a taste of his jam, and offered me a liqueur. I enjoyed the dinner so much the first time that I returned a second time, and the experience was even better thanks to Juan's kindness. The rest of the staff was also very friendly. The food was delicious and tastefully presented. Generous portions. The decor is lovely, with antique items.

My experience was rather average, and considering the prices, I expected a bit more in both service and portion sizes. At the beginning, the waiter didn't introduce himself by name. Later, another waitress accidentally spilled the pebre (a Chilean salsa) on my jacket, leaving it quite oily. Fortunately, the restaurant took responsibility and sent it to be laundered. As for the food, we ordered several empanadas. They were generally good, but the oyster empanada had very few oysters, which was quite disappointing. We also ordered the king crab appetizer and a ribeye steak. The king crab was fine, but the ribeye was quite grist, the portion was rather small, and I personally felt hungry after the main course. The best part of the experience, without a doubt, was the ice cream: truly delicious and probably what I enjoyed most about the meal. The prices are within the expected range for the market, but I think the portions are small for the price, especially for the main courses. In summary, there are some redeeming qualities, especially the dessert and some of the dishes, but I think there is room for improvement in both the service and the price-quality-quantity ratio.

Excellent place to eat while enjoying the beautiful view of Punta Arenas. The food was exquisite, and I recommend the trio of sours.
