Mission Pacific Beach Resort

Ann and I spent a wonderful weekend at the Mission Pacific. The property is bright, open, and modern, with a great atmosphere and an ideal location near the Oceanside Pier. We relaxed by the pool every day and especially enjoyed the rooftop bar. The bartenders were fantastic and made us some excellent craft cocktails. The staff throughout the hotel was friendly and welcoming. Oceanside has a laid-back feel that suited our weekend perfectly, and Carlsbad was close enough for an easy dinner outing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

From our check-in experience with Eric to the delicious brunch and beautiful views at The Cafe, our stay was wonderful from start to finish. The cafe manager, Jamal, was especially attentive and made our breakfasts a highlight of our stay! You can’t beat the location, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The hotel is impeccably clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive without ever being intrusive. And don’t miss the rooftop, the views are a must! Highly recommend this hotel. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great hotel, best location in Oceanside, and really chill rooftop pool w/ DJ on weekends. Using Hyatt points for the stay go really far at this location too. Don’t forget to bring your surfboard!

The room was truly exceptional, very bright and airy. I stayed in a suite, which had three large windows, allowing for perfect sunlight. Being right on the beach, I could feel the warmth and enthusiasm of the people there, making the surrounding area quite noisy. I could clearly hear the street performers on the beach, and the overall atmosphere was also very loud due to the hotel's events. The hotel facilities, such as the shower gel, smelled wonderful, unlike typical Hyatts. The location was also superb, right on the beach, and there were many shops nearby, although the food didn't quite suit Chinese tastes. I especially loved the lobby's furniture arrangement; it had a tropical rainforest feel while maintaining a modern style. I loved every single piece of furniture. For breakfast, you could choose between two restaurants; Piers across the street was decent.

We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend for a family wedding, and overall had an excellent experience! When we arrived and got to our room, we had an issue with the beverage cooler. Since we were traveling with our child, we needed a functioning refrigerator for his bottles and food. We spoke with Erick at the front desk and asked if we could switch rooms, and he immediately accommodated us. Erick truly went above and beyond to help us. He actually came up to our room to drop off our new keys so that we didn’t have to make our way back down to the lobby with our baby and all of our suitcases. He also took a look at the refrigerator issue himself and put in a request to have a full-size mini fridge delivered to our new room. He followed up with us the next day to see how our night was and make sure everything was okay. That level of personal attention and care really stood out to us! We also opted out of daily housekeeping during our stay. Whenever we called for anything we needed (extra towels, etc.), our requests were answered and delivered incredibly quickly, usually within about 10 minutes! That was especially appreciated while traveling with a baby. We also want to give a shoutout to the valet team! They were incredibly patient and accommodating with us every time we arrived or left, especially while we were getting our baby in and out of the car. They never made us feel rushed and were always so friendly and helpful. We were also really impressed with how quickly they had our car ready whenever we called for it. Traveling with a baby can make coming and going a little more complicated, so having such a helpful valet team made a big difference! A huge thank you to Erick, the valet team, and the rest of the staff for making our stay so much easier and more comfortable. Excellent customer service can make such a difference, and the staff here definitely made a great impression on our family. We would absolutely stay here again!

I am currently staying here, having returned due to enjoying my stay in September 2025. The hotel rooms and grounds are lovely. However, the food and service in the cafe has gone downhill, which I can only assume is due to now being run in-house as opposed to by external caterers. More disappointingly is the treatment I have just received in the pool bar. We did not reserve a table but that did not appear to be an issue. The girl who greeted us asked if we would like to sit somewhere with a view, which I confirmed but she showed us to a table for 4 in the middle section. As there were several free tables for 2 at the side, overlooking the sea, I asked if it would be possible to sit there. She hesitated and reluctantly said yes. Once seated she came back and said if we found it too hot she would happily move us.. It was obvious from her attitude that she wanted us to vacate the table. I assured her that we were fine where we were and after about 10 minutes, she came back, announced that she would need the table back shortly and slapped a reserved sign on it. There were at least 5 other unoccupied tables in the same row which were not reserved. If it was reserved, this should have been made clear from the outset. I have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world and have never been made to feel so unwelcome.

Our family had an amazing stay at the Mission Pacific Beach Resort in Oceanside. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with how beautiful the resort was. The décor is gorgeous, the rooms were exceptionally clean, and the service throughout our stay was outstanding. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The location is absolutely perfect, with the beach just steps away. We stayed in an ocean view room, and the views were spectacular. One of our family’s favourite parts of the resort was the rooftop pool. Watching the sunset from the rooftop with the ocean in the background was truly incredible and easily one of the highlights of our trip. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Mission Pacific. Between the beautiful resort, exceptional service, incredible ocean views, and perfect beachfront location, it was a fantastic place for our family vacation. We would absolutely stay here again.

Wow - what a stay!!! Needed a small getaway for my partner’s birthday and we wanted to try somewhere new. Mission Pacific came up in recommendations by fellow Hyatt travelers, and also had accolades from Condé Nast so we decided to give it a go. I honestly wasn’t expecting much, but was pleasantly blown away by the both the property and the service. This hotel definitely exceeded our standard expectations for Hyatt, especially around benefits and overall value. Received an email a day before that early check in would not be possible due to high occupancy. That was ok with us, I checked in the morning of on the app and indicated a 3pm arrival time not expecting our room to be ready, but it was when we arrived. Received a room upgrade from standard king to studio king with oceanfront views, 4pm late checkout, valet fees waived and breakfast at Piper’s across the street at the Seabird. Also left a note during booking that we’d be celebrating a birthday (I’m almost sure most hotels do not read the extra notes/comments), so we were pleasantly surprised when we saw a notecard and a bottle of wine with chocolates waiting for us upon check in. Housekeeping staff was also on top of things, requested items were always delivered promptly. Location was also very convenient, plenty of restaurants and attractions within walking distance and we didn’t have to drive out as often as we thought we would. We checked out the Thursday night market, had dinner at some restaurants close by and even signed up for a bunny yoga class hosted at Springhill Suites. Property also provides beach valet, pretty neat if you want beach access without needing to lug your beach gear around. That said, there were a few minor hiccups at the pool and a room refresh request with housekeeping that wasn’t quite timed right but nothing major that took away from our experience. Overall, I came in with modest expectations and was thoroughly impressed. Would absolutely recommend this property for anyone looking for a getaway in O’side!
