Crowne Plaza Canberra

It’s a nice hotel in a good location. We have stayed before. The service rating reflects on the management and not the staff, who really tried. Unfortunately, on this stay, the hotel was completely understaffed for the long weekend with management invisible. The hotel was overflowing with people, noise and grime. The robot vacuum missed a food spill in the middle of the corridor outside our room for at least 2 days. The communal spaces were dirty, loud, and unpleasant. It felt like the decision was made by management to stuff the hotel full of people, regardless of the impact on guests or staff, or their brand. The few staff around were doing their best, which was much appreciated. The hotel was full of families for a major dance competition which meant that many rooms housed at least four people. The breakfast queues were often very long and the breakfast buffet was completely raided within minutes. We were woken at 1.30 am Sunday morning by screaming from the corridor (which turned out to be unserious, but was nonetheless disturbing). A fire alarm was activated at one point. It was a relief not to be evacuated on a bitterly cold night. We could not wait to get out of there. We won’t be back.

Onsite parking does not guarantee you a spot as it is shared with the adjoining restaurant. It is a “first in best dressed” policy as advised by reception after complaining there was no room and had to find parking in a seperate location . After seeing such poor systems in place and lack of empathy from staff we will not be returning

Very disappointed with this hotel room was very dated and needs refurbished as for the food very greasy and unpalatable paying top dollar for a very poor product

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We met a staff named Harjit she was really kind, welcoming and always ready to help with a smile. We really appreciate the care and attention provided by Harjit. Harjit Your kind gesture makes this place more wonderful❤️ Not just us I am sure all other customer have noticed your great service.

Four nights here. I'd stay again. The hotel sits at an apex of the National Triangle. Canberra's more important places are within easy reach. Glebe Park is right alongside for a stroll. The leaves had turned autumnal by the time I was there. A convenience store across the road stayed open late. The Canberra Centre and its big retailers were a few minutes on foot, with restaurants, coffee and bars scattered about. Large, comfortable room. Work area, a big window, bright lighting to study by. A bed I slept well in. I looked over the park. The bathroom was stocked with handy items. Housekeeping came when I wanted and skipped when I asked. They left my room spotless every time. Check-in and out were quick. It's smart. A bit dated, but so what. The one thing that grated: the atrium. Bright and airy, yes, but built like an aircraft hangar. The open business lounge picked up the noise.

As soon as you come in the place feels magical and luxurious. Go to the gym or pool and eat all you want with their very big menu.

Awesome place...service is great. Just needs more attention after hours if you ring the doorbell. The restaurant is great, but the chef on the breakfast run ignored me for a bit and told me to fill out a form as if I knew I had to do that with out a smile, please or thank you. The rest of the staff are awesome.

As a platinum member and an IHG member, I was treated like a criminal. My assistant used my abbreviated name rather than the full version. They patronised me, did not want to honour my status and points, the reception staff we yelling at me at the same time, blaming me for being rude and aggressive. I was pointing out to them my membership, my full name, same address, stayed at this hotel many times before. A disgusting treatment by someone who claimed to be the assistant manager. I was told that they would not give me my points and they would nit honour my booking. Don't stay there and if you are an IHG member, reconsider.
