The Marlborough Hotel

I came here for the pool table, but got a nice good feed and a cold drink. Staff were nice, tables were amazing. Would recommend.

I felt very unsafe. A security guard place his hands upon my friends face outside the venue. The security team were very inappropriate.

Was meeting a few friends before dinner nearby. Was in the back bar near the bistro. Was surprised when a guy casually walked in with a large dog. I like dogs but not in doors and not in areas that serve food and drink. We were there at 5.30pm. No happy hour like other drinking places around so was quite expensive.

Really enjoyed my time at the marly. Bartender recommended a great wine and the trivia was lots of fun. would definitely go back again

Great pub with plenty of atmosphere. Prices were reasonable and staff were very helpful.

Sienna is the BEST bartender on king st, literally the life of Newtown - give her a raise immediately for real, she made my entire night. Love love love love!!!!!!!

I like to write positive reviews, unfortunately not on this occasion. This was low-key hostile environment towards lgbtq folk. I was enjoying my second drink minding my own business seated by the dance floor when bouncer approached me said they like a word? He took my 25$ drink out of my hand that was full and guided me outside said girls were to young approaching me I had to leave. Talk about hostility indifference. Imagine seated having a drink enjoying a little socializing at an adults only establishment. I told them they ought to refund me my drink but they opted to ripping me off instead having me leave the establishment based ageism. The experience left a bad taste to supposedly so called lgbt friendly establishment. I can’t write that I recommend this place, too bad. On the upside, there’s many great places in Newtown I’m more than happy to continue visiting giving my business to, that’s for sure. 👍🏼
