Always a great place with good people and fantastic music , vibe and food

Food was okay for what it is.

New rooftop is great.

The Merc is a fantastic Irish bar in the Rocks. They recently have opened a rooftop bar which has a relaxed vibe. The good news is it has a lift and it is advisable to book a table during the busier times. The salt and pepper squid melts in your mouth and a must. We also tried the Shamrock Pie, bangers and mash which are classic Irish dishes and were good. The fried chicken burger was okay but will try something different next time. The ground floor bar is your typical Irish bar and they have fabulous live music as well. Definitely add this bar on your list if you visit the Rocks.

Been a long time between drinks, nice spot for a catch up

Great live set at The Mercantile Hotel in The Rocks — classic Irish pub atmosphere with warm, lively guitar and viola music that filled the room beautifully. The guitar kept everything driving while the viola added a rich, emotional layer, and both musicians sang very well, adding real depth and character to the performance. Authentic, intimate, and perfectly suited to Sydney’s oldest Irish pub.

Great location at the Rocks. Relatively easy to find nearby parking but expect to walk a bit. Signature dish Pie with Mash was great. Service with a forced smile. Can get very noisy and rowdy on weekends.
