Pilsen Pride (Plzeň Pride)
عن هذه الفعالية
Pilsen Pride is Plzeň's Pride week and march, organised by volunteers, many of them students at the University of West Bohemia. The first march, on 2 September 2017, drew about 400 people. In 2019 around 50 far-right counter-protesters tried to block the route on Dřevěná street until riot police moved them aside; there has been no organised opposition since 2022. The 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled because of COVID.
The week runs in September and mixes talks, a book club, drawing nights, concerts and a picnic. The 2026 festival ran from 9 to 13 September; the march on Saturday 12 September started at 15:00 from Mlýnská strouha and was followed by concerts at Buena Vista. About 300 people marched, police were present in large numbers and no incidents were reported. It's a small, friendly, political march rather than a big street party. The 2027 dates had not been announced when we checked in October 2026; the organisers say the festival stays in September. Follow pilsenpride.eu or @pilsen_pride.
