Excellent hotel for visiting the center

Fantastic location.

The food was excellent for the category. The windows opened, and the heating, air conditioning, and sauna all worked. If you know how to drive, you'll find the parking space. We didn't experience any noise on the top floor and had a fantastic view.

First of all, the location is unbeatable. Within the old town everything is close, including restaurants, bars, Roterman Quarter and Telliskivi. The hotel itself is old fashioned and not on a good standard. There is no safety box in the room and no power outlet in the bathroom. Rooms are very basic. And it‘s ridiculously sensitive to noise. You can hear everything from the other rooms, sometimes it‘s like someone is in your room, because you can hear it so clearly. There also is a Karaoke club in the next building that makes it hard to sleep. Breakfast is quite nice, there are various continental options. Unfortunately the staff is not very friendly or motivated, sometimes it felt like the guests are disturbing them.

Stayed here for 4 nights from 1st of June to 5th June and had an amazing experience staying at the Rixwell Viru Square Hotel. All staff at reception, breakfast staff, and cleaning staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. All were very welcoming. Overall it was a great experience, no complaints at all. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to visit Tallinn.

I used the hotel for one night on my way through Scandinavia, the hotel is centrally located in the old town, it is a bit more difficult to find, but with navigation it is no problem. Parking right in front of the reception 18e per night, the room is decent, breakfast has a reasonable selection for 12e. I was satisfied and the accommodation was at a reasonable price.

I am usually not a picky person, but it’s frustrating when staying in a hotel for 87€/ a night means staying in a place whose interior design resembles a Tallink cruise ship, including the stained carpet. This place has the absolute minimum of what I could expect from a hotel, the only ammenities are furniture, towels and soaps. However, worst of all was the sound isolation. The hotel is neighbouring a club or really loud bar because I went to sleep with my headphones to drown out the music that was blasting until well past 1 a.m. on a Thursday evening… 🫠 I could also hear pretty much everything my “neighbours” were up to, especially in the bathroom where I heard a phone call from the other room word for word. The breakfast was fine (except for the layout of the table, who come up with that?) but the coffee was unbelievably bad…

If you just need a place to crash and sleep, this hotel is perfectly fine, but it’s definitely not for a longer stay. The staff comes across as quite reserved, and the rooms are very sparsely furnished. In my case, my room faced another building directly opposite, and there was loud music playing outside. Thank goodness they finally turned it off around 11:00 PM. If you plan on hanging out in your room during the day or want a more comfortable space to spend time in, you should definitely choose a different hotel. But if you literally only need a bed for the night, it gets the job done.

Located right in the old town. Large room, comfortable beds. We lived on the 5th floor, fantastic view from the window. We liked everything. Nice staff.

This was the best accommodation I’ve stayed at so far. It was very quiet, the room was big, the breakfast was varied, and the staff were very kind. Everything was close by, and both check-in and check-out were quick and easy. They welcomed us with a large jacuzzi, water, bathrobes, and slippers. If I return to Tallinn, I will definitely stay here again.
