I went into Elles BAR for a cocktail. I left with a problem. Her name is Marie. At first, I thought it was the first mojito. Then the second cocktail confirmed I wasn't. The third whispered a universal truth to me: Marie is a meteorological phenomenon all on her own. Beautiful like a sunset in a perfectly decorated glass. Funny like a party that takes a turn for the better. Charismatic enough to make a GPS hesitate about which way to go. Marie, if Cupid accepts payment in cocktails, I'm ready to give her my credit card. You shake the shakers like a conductor, you distribute smiles with suspicious generosity, and you transform a simple drink with friends into a night that people are still talking about three weeks later. I don't know what secret ingredient you put in your creations, but there's clearly a touch of magic, two doses of good humor, and a dash of "oops, I think I'll be back tomorrow." Anyway… The cocktails are excellent. The atmosphere is incredible. The team is top-notch. But my heart has clearly left a deposit behind the bar. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ PS: Marie, I love you, and even if you refuse my imaginary marriage proposal, at least promise me you'll keep making such amazing cocktails… it's already a very elegant way to break my heart.

*** In response the owner's response. I didn't say I was a tourist. I LIVE here. SHE was visiting and you assuming we were swingers is rich. We came in for a drink. You assuming otherwise is being prejudice and discriminatory. And playing devil's advocate even if we were who cares? You make a lot of assumptions about people who you instantly said no to. You're a service and refusing service is discrimination and if roles were reversed you'd be screaming it's not inclusive. We came in for a drink. It was that simple. You lied and said no men and when two white men entered you suddenly added only gay men. So much for inclusion. Someone being a tourist or not or swinger or not has nothing to do with it. Why would you assume we were swingers? We weren't. Just late night. Where she lived os very conservative and it was a chance to meet others and your bigoted attitude instantly assumed we were swingers. ***** I don't know of the owner is racist or heterophobe but I was with my girlfriend who she is bi. Visiting from another country. we went into the bar and she refused to serve me. Said I could wait outside. Guys stay with guys and girls with girls. She said she wasn't going to serve me because I'm a man. I said that's discrimination and if it was reversed she'd lose her mind. So as we were leaving two white guys came in and she served them. So I turn around and asked why are you serving them. She said because they're gay. To which they laughed with her. You said you wouldn't serve me because I was a man. I said how do you know I'm not gay? She said I could tell with your mannerisms. (Thank you i guess? But hypocritical) so she was either discriminating because I was black or because I was hetero. Either way not a good look and extremely humiliating. We ended up walking down the street to a gay bar that welcomed us both. After telling our story the gay bar tenderJoked that straight peole weren't allowed to kiss in the bar and just said lesbians are just mean. The fact the lebians was so thrilled with her discrimination really highlights who the inclusion is for. And anyone patronizing that racist, misandrist, heterophobe bar can no longer claim moral high ground. So much for liberté, egalité, fraternité. Avoid this place and the troll of an owner.
