This place is OUTRAGEOUS. While strolling through the iconic Marais district, it was customary to stop for a drink at a gay bar. We happened to stumble upon "La Boîte." The guy who was acting all gay by the door didn't even respond when we said hello—rude. He stared straight into my eyes for what felt like an eternity, a truly disturbing and unsettling few seconds, before finally whispering in my ear, and I quote: "We don't accept women here." I thought I'd misheard, but no. "This place is for men only; it's the owner's policy." Completely shocked, I told him that no problem, we'd gladly spend our money elsewhere, and turned on my heel. But let me refresh your memory: "According to French law (articles 225-1 and 225-2 of the Penal Code), refusing entry solely on the basis of gender is illegal, even in a community establishment. In France, a bar is a Public Access Establishment (ERP) and cannot refuse entry to someone because of their sex. This is punishable by a prison sentence of 3 years and a fine of up to €45,000." In short, you could soon be out of business. As an added bonus, I see from the comments that I'm not the only one who has been a victim of discrimination (when I read that even some Trans and Gay men are turned away), but that, strangely enough, women can be seen in your photos. Hmm, this is all very odd, it really leaves something to be desired. But, patience is a virtue. Your masks will fall one day or another, and you will finally receive the punishment you deserve.
