Massively insulted – gender-based abuse and disrespectful behavior in the club My experience at Excorner Cologne was extremely disappointing and completely unacceptable. Even the organizational aspects were problematic: One of the two restrooms was permanently closed, forcing my girlfriend and me to use the remaining one. After only about three minutes, a bar employee (approximately 185 cm tall, brown hair, mid-40s) began aggressively banging on the door and then hurled a massively offensive insult targeting my gender. When we opened the door, the same employee remained extremely dismissive and simply told us rudely to leave the area with "Out, out!" He also falsely claimed that we had been in the restroom for 30 minutes – which is simply untrue. We were there to dance, not to spend an extended period of time in the restrooms. Even more concerning was how my subsequent complaint was handled. Another employee reacted completely unprofessionally and dismissively, saying, "What am I supposed to do now, hit him or what?" – a reaction that shows a complete lack of understanding of the situation and is entirely inappropriate. While two other employees behind the bar appeared sympathetic, it remained just empty words. No concrete action or consequences were taken; instead, the gist of it was that they "didn't want any trouble." The nature of the insult used is particularly egregious in this context. Such vulgar and gender-based denigration is not only personally hurtful but, especially within the context of an open and diverse club culture – particularly within the LGBTQ+ community – has an additional, discriminatory dimension. Such statements contribute to people, especially women, continuing to feel belittled and not taken seriously. Equally alarming is the underlying attitude conveyed: If someone is genuinely unwell, they should apparently expect to be treated disrespectfully and insulted instead of receiving support. Overall, this incident leaves the impression of inadequate complaint management, a lack of accountability, and a disrespectful and potentially discriminatory approach to guests. Under these circumstances, I absolutely cannot recommend visiting this club.

Over of the best fun energetic bars I've been to in a long time! Great fun dance-and-sing music.

Fun place. Great outside area. Very friendly & efficient bartender.

Nice enough bar. Very busy with a good atmosphere and great music. Drinks were pricey but I had a great night. One of the livelier spots in Cologne.

We had a great night here! Loved the vibe, staff were super friendly. We were visiting from England, but got chatting to all different people from all over Europe. By the end of the night everyone was up dancing together! A real inclusive LGBTQ+ venue

My favorite bar in Cologne! The atmosphere is really nice, and everyone is very welcoming. It gets really crowded, and it can be hard to even walk, but around 1 a.m. it starts to get less crowded. Kölsch costs €2.40. The music is mainly pop, with some Latin as well.
