Last night, I experienced a very unpleasant incident at Sodat, a place I've been regularly visiting since 2012. I was wearing casual shorts and a t-shirt, but I was kept waiting at the door and denied entry because of my attire. Yet, people leaving the establishment were dressed similarly. Only after I pointed this out and mentioned it was I allowed in. Experiencing such discrimination in a place I've been going to for years has deeply hurt and upset me. It's even more upsetting to encounter such treatment within the gay community. "I've been a customer of this place for years, and last night I was denied entry because my shorts were deemed 'too short.' As someone who has entered the same establishment many times before without any problems, this situation seemed quite inconsistent and unnecessary to me. In 2026, applying vague dress codes based on individual preferences is both outdated and unfair. If there's a dress code, it should be clearly stated and applied equally to everyone. It was a truly disappointing experience. THIS IS WHAT I WAS WEARING."

Yesterday during our visit to beautiful Athens we found ourselves, upon recommendation, at one of the best gay bars in the city. Sodante2 in the Gazi area. We had a beautiful evening that started with the fantastic guy at the reception who welcomed us pleasantly and   showed interest in our country of origin and really impressed us with his approach!The music on the first stage was very good for dancing and entertaining for a gay-queer club.On the contrary, the music on the second stage was not good but monotonous and in some cases irritating. The drinks were very good and the cocktails prepared for us by the barwoman of the "courtyard" were delicious and original! She herself was particularly pleasant and professional. 10 to the reception guy ,who we are waiting for in Mexico for our own tequilas.!!! It’s honestly unbelievable that in 2026 someone can be denied entry because their shorts were considered “too short.” This place is known as a gay bar where people are supposed to feel free and accepted. LGBTQ+ people already face enough discrimination in daily life because of how they look, dress or express themselves. Seeing this kind of arbitrary discrimination in a place that should feel safe is deeply disappointing and ironic. Doing this to loyal customers who have been coming for years makes it even worse.

My friend has been coming to this place for years and last night he was denied entry because his shorts were supposedly “too short.” He has entered many times before without any issue. This kind of selective treatment makes no sense and feels very unfair. If there’s a dress code, apply it clearly and equally to everyone.

Shop Maybe I would like the bar to be open on weekdays as well since Saturday nights are not for all of us but obviously the management knows better

Hello, I would like to report discriminatory behavior by the security staff/bar staff. They appear to allow entry only to certain people they choose, while refusing others unfairly. Their behavior feels racist and discriminatory. I believe everyone should be treated equally and respectfully. Please look into this matter seriously.😒
