One of the best clubs in Europe. Staff is soooo friendly and the place is super clean. Lot's of action! I go there as often as I can!
To begin with, I wasn't asked for my ID to become a member of the club, as required by law in Barcelona. Consent is not respected. Many of the guys taking drugs touch you without your consent, and if you dare say no, the owner yells at you and insults you before throwing you out. He's completely in denial. Just read the ludicrous responses he gives here if you dare criticize his club. It's the same inside. If you don't let these awful guys touch you, they insult you. There's absolutely no respect for the customer.
Unique in Barcelona...a place to go and come back to again and again.
I visited for the first time a week ago and loved it so much that I'm going back this week. The staff were great, the facilities were clean, etc. What more can I say?
I was eagerly awaiting the owner's response to my review. As usual (read the other reviews), he called me a liar (it's his only argument, repeated to anyone who dares to speak about his club. He can't stand any negative criticism). Yet several of us here have said that they don't check customers' IDs, as required by law. When a club doesn't respect the law right from the entrance, it says a lot about what goes on inside. How could the owner possibly know what's happening in his club when he spends all his time at the bar drinking enormous glasses of whiskey? It's obvious he has a drinking problem. What would I gain by lying about this club? I don't live in Barcelona. I was there as a tourist. But what I saw was so shocking that I can't stay silent and let other tourists experience this hell. I was at the club Sunday night, and I witnessed a completely unbelievable scene. A customer who was being touched without his consent by another customer was thrown out because he dared to resist. Apparently, consent is forbidden in this club. It's not the one doing the touching who gets kicked out, but the one being touched without consent. You can see from the moment you walk in that they don't respect the rules or the law. Since they didn't ask for my ID, as they were supposed to, and given the state of the customers and staff, you quickly realize that no laws regarding illicit substances are being respected. Cleanliness and hygiene aren't their priorities either. If you like old zombies, run to this club; you'll be thrilled. Otherwise, run away! Far away!
I'm a regular customer of this place, and first of all, I want to clarify that if I've been coming here for so long, it must be for a reason… I witnessed the whole thing, and nothing like it had ever happened before. So, of course, the problem isn't with the people inside, who are known for their great atmosphere and friendly vibe. Nor is it with the staff, who are incredibly professional and respectful. It was an unpleasant customer who was constantly looking for trouble, both inside and outside the club… his attitude was beyond deplorable. And to make comments about people's appearance… all he's doing is revealing his true character. I just hope he never comes back so I can continue enjoying the trendiest club in Barcelona. The one we all go to and have a great time at every week. Not just me, but any customer can tell you it's the best, hands down!
I was at the Basement on Sunday night. The owner insulted and humiliated a customer in front of everyone. He was yelling like a madman. He seemed completely out of control. I find this behavior unacceptable and I will never return to that club, even though I used to go every weekend. The owner disgusted me, and I will make it known that no one should give him their money.
