1987 Bar sits right on the Alameda de Hercules and does one thing with total commitment: the 1980s. Spain claims this as its first 80s-themed discopub, and the formula has not changed much since - retro Spanish and international pop, neon touches, and a dance floor that fills up when the rest of the Alameda terraces wind down. The crowd is mixed, with a strong gay presence thanks to the location in the heart of the gay quarter. It works well as the between-stop on an Alameda night out: start with drinks at Dilema or El Bosque Animado, dance at 1987, then move on to Itaca if you want the full club finish. Doors open around 22:00 every night and the music runs until roughly 04:30. Entry is usually free, drinks are reasonably priced for the area, and the vibe stays fun and unpretentious all week.
