Just sat at the bar

Booked at the last minute, we were incredibly lucky to get this room at half price. The welcome was very attentive; they really took great care of us! The hotel is located right in the city center next to the town hall. There's a public parking lot less than 100 meters away, which is very convenient. There's an agreement between the hotels and the city of Basel that offers free daily public transport passes. We tried the restaurant and had a very good meal.

If you are a light sleeper like myself, this place might not be for you. It's central location in the city means it has many public trains that ride by every few minutes. There was also some form of construction late at night on our first night. That being said, this really isn't the fault of the hotel. The staff is very friendly, professional and were prompt to address our concerns. The hotel itself is beautiful and very clean. Tips : bring earplugs, if the room has exterior shades, this also helps muffle the noise.

The young receptionists were all so friendly and helpful. They are excellent ambassadors for the hotel. The hotel is clean and well-run. Breakfast service was good. Our orders from the menu were delivered promptly and of high quality. A greater range of cold meats and a toaster would be welcome additions. Our room suited our needs. The mini-bar offering a small range of complimentary items was a nice touch. Excellent walk-in shower. Only negative is that our room suffered from a lack of air flow and felt stuffy overnight. We were unable to keep the window open during the hours of darkness as the neighbouring streets were too noisy. That said, the hotel is perfectly located for those wishing to explore the city on foot or by tram.

Good, but I’ve had much better experiences for this price. It did not meet my expectations. 1. The room was very dark during the day, with only one small window. 2. The window was not soundproof, and I could hear the tram and street noise almost 24/7. 3. The air conditioning was suboptimal and the room remained quite warm. The proposed solution was to provide a fan. 4. At both check-in and check-out, no assistance was offered with luggage. There are stairs between the entrance and reception, and I had to carry my heavy suitcase up and down myself. 5. Breakfast was acceptable but offered very limited options. Overall, the location is excellent and the hotel is clean, but considering the price, I expected a much higher level of comfort and service. I would not stay here again unless significant improvements are made.

This hotel has the best location in Basel, walking distance to all the best sight seeing spots, restaurants as well as shops. The restaurant and bar on site are fantastic, great food and great vibe. And last but not least the staff are all super friendly and helpful. It was a 5 star experience!

A very nice hotel. Very clean, good service. Beautifully furnished rooms. Wonderfully coordinated in terms of color and design. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is located right in the city center. The exhibition grounds are easily reachable on foot if you are reasonably fit.
