Excellent experience at the Hotel FlueMatte. The food deserves special mention: everything was very well prepared and delicious. The chicken cordon bleu is simply divine — crispy on the outside, succulent on the inside, and extremely well executed. A meal that surprises and elevates the stay experience. I would return without hesitation.

We only ate at the restaurant. The cordon bleu is delicious. You'd have to go far to find anything even remotely comparable. We'll definitely be back.

A family-run business, managed with dedication. The owners, their son, the chef, and all the other staff go to great lengths to ensure their guests have a pleasant stay. The chef's skill in creating delicious home-style cooking deserves special mention. We always had three courses in the evening. After the main course, seconds were always offered from hot pots and pans, which the guests often couldn't resist, and they happily went back for seconds. The culinary highlight was the homemade, creamy gelato, which was served in various flavors every evening as a dessert. Here, the hoteliers' Italian roots were evident. The only slight drawback to an otherwise perfect stay, in my opinion, was the guest rooms...they unfortunately had the charm of a country boarding school. The furniture was somewhat dated and very spartan. My room lacked a mini-fridge, a safe, and, due to its basement location, a balcony, which would have been lovely given the rural surroundings and panoramic views. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, no question... but given the not-so-inexpensive nature of my tour, I would have preferred a slightly higher-quality guest room. But that's just my personal opinion. If you can do without the comfort and modern amenities I was looking for and consider the positive aspects described above more important, this is a good base for exploring and getting to know this beautiful region. What's with the calf in the video? 😅 On the adjacent farm, there was a very talkative calf that would bellow at anything and everything for ages as soon as it saw something. It was clearly interacting with people when they playfully bellowed back. It greeted us every morning and evening before and after our day trips and became a charming running gag.

A restaurant stuck in the 80s, but clean and nicely set. I ordered sausage and cheese salad and received a mixed sausage and cheese salad. I had to order salad dressing because there was so little, and neither the cabbage, carrots, nor cucumbers had any dressing on them. I received a ready-made dressing with a few chive pieces and absolutely no seasoning. Then the owners started arguing, which made the atmosphere unpleasant. When the waitress asked me if everything was alright and I said I'd had better, she didn't think it necessary to ask what wasn't so good. She also didn't know that the card reader accepted Twint, and not everyone can handle criticism. After that, she bid me farewell with excessive friendliness. Thanks, but never again.

Friendly staff and excellent cuisine. Even for a large group, everything runs smoothly without long waiting times.

A family-run hotel in a superb location. The owners (junior and senior) are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. They also provide interesting and entertaining background information about the local sights and the Swiss way of life. I felt very welcome here and can highly recommend the hotel.
