a sweet place
We sat down to eat gözleme (a type of Turkish flatbread) with friends and our children. However, we left without eating because of the harsh and rude attitude of the employee or owner. When we asked if the gözleme we ordered for the children had any spices, they responded rudely, making for a very unpleasant experience.
We were very dissatisfied. The gentleman who served us, in particular, had a very rude and unpleasant attitude towards customers. We asked if the potato gözleme (Turkish flatbread) contained spices, as our child couldn't eat spicy gözleme. Despite simply wanting information about the ingredients, he responded rudely and told us to "not engage." It's perfectly normal for a customer, especially one with a child, to ask what they can eat. This kind of behavior was truly unpleasant. I believe that in a place like Ankara Castle, frequently visited by tourists and families, more attention should be paid to customer communication. We will definitely not choose this place again. (Regarding the gentleman's comment: we sat down but left without ordering due to your rude attitude.)
They have amazing manti (Turkish dumplings). I don't usually like cold additions to hot dishes (like yogurt), but I ate a superb manti here. My wife wanted to go somewhere else, but I preferred going here. I ate manti that would cost 500-600 TL elsewhere for 250 TL, including a drink. The price wasn't the main issue; the taste was fantastic. The only drawback is that the plastic tables and chairs don't suit the restaurant, which is located in a courtyard inside an old Ankara house within a historical setting. Old-style chairs and tables would have looked much better. But the delicious manti makes you forget this flaw. You should definitely go!
The place has some hygiene issues, and the dumplings weren't very good.
Everything was handmade and very delicious; we had dumplings and potato flatbread, they were wonderful. You can go there with peace of mind.
