Parque Barigui (Gay Cruising Area)

Parque Barigui, Curitiba's largest and most popular park, is also the city's best-known outdoor gay cruising area. Discreet activity concentrates on the wooded trails toward the old brick chimney (Chaminé) and the Santa Felicidade side of the park, mainly in daylight and the early evening. By day it is an ordinary, busy family park with a lake, walking paths and wildlife, so keep the usual discretion. Brazil is broadly welcoming, but Curitiba's parks can see opportunistic night-time robberies — daytime visits on the marked trails are safer.
