Piura Pride March (Marcha del Orgullo Piura)

The Marcha del Orgullo Piura is the city's Pride march, organised by the Mesa de Concertación TLGB+ de Piura, a coalition of local LGBTQ+ collectives. It is held every year on 28 June itself, whatever the weekday, gathering at about 16:00. The 2022 march, billed as the 14th, ran from Plazuela Merino to Parque Miguel Cortés; the 2023 edition gathered at Plazuela Salaverry, opposite the Teatro Municipal, under the slogan "Las vidas trans importan" (Peru21). The organisers' Instagram showed the 2026 march gathering on Sunday 28 June at Parque de los Aviones in Castilla.

It's a political march rather than a festival: a few hundred people, banners, comparsas and speeches about trans rights and violence against trans women. There's no official after-party venue.

In 2027, 28 June falls on a Monday. The meeting point hadn't been announced at the time of writing; check @marchadelorgullopiura on Instagram or Facebook in June.
