Unbelievable experience crossing this bridge! In itself, an adventure with the juxtaposition of a rail, road - including a cycle path - and waterway. An architectural and technical feat of the mid-nineteenth century, this bridge is a form of immediate change of scenery that makes it possible to measure concretely the immensity and strength of the St. Lawrence River!
So much traffic crosses this workhorse bridge, and the traffic creates traffic jams on either side of the river. It is not pretty, it is functional.
I’m scarred for life after riding on this bridge. I have never been afraid of bridges until now. We drove over this one lane bridge with a tiny little railing looking over a huge steep drop into the semi frozen river. The bridge is made of a see thorough grate that was extremely slippery in the ice and snow. I have never been so scared in my life. This bridge is dangerous and needs to be knocked down!
This is huge bridge and we traveled under it while videotaping in a boat. The contrasts and the steel beams just amazing architecture. It sort of looks like a long dinosaur skeleton.
Maybe it is old and boring but it is the first major bridge in the area...and in Canada and is over 2 km long. Opened in 1859 as a train bridge and now with dual lanes with a totally metal grid roadbed. People are often scared when first using it but it is fabulous...no need for snow clearance in the winter. Efficient in getting directly to the heart of the city. Will likely last another 100+ years...
Not a visit destination whatsoever. It's just a bridge. It's old and rusty... it crosses a river its not tall it not wide its boring
Vicotria bridge is the oldest bridge crossing St LAwrence river. It is still in use for both rail and road traffic and it is more than 3 Km long. It is named in honour of Queen Victoria.
This bridge is full of history. It's beautiful and a great place to take pictures and see the city as you cross.
Old Bridge which was opened for Queen Victoria Jubilee. This bridge connect South Shore with Montreal in only 12 minutes.!!
I always use this bridge when entering into the city. It is also the safest bridge. During the grand prix this bridge is right next to the track and you can see and hear the cars. You can't walk across this bridge but you can certainly enjoy its beauty.
