Seaweed! The Travel Agents dont tell you about that! Kinda ruins the expierence because you cant really enjoy the beach. Outside of that, this place is pretty great. Food, pool, people really nice.

This resort is a dream! It was only a 40 min drive from the airport. The resort itself is beautiful! It is clean, updated and the rooms are spacious and beautifully done. The staff were so kind, from check in to the bartenders to the housekeepers… everyone was kind and accommodating. The food is delicious, drinks are strong, pools and entertainment are abundant… it was amazing! We will definitely be back

I would recommend dreams Onyx for any family looking for a getaway. The rooms were very comfortable. The hotel is quite large so bring comfortable shoes. The staff are friendly, and the restaurants are very good. The buffet is consistently the same, not a lot of variety although the beach had seaweed the staff worked every day declared away, and we were able to go into the ocean. The family loves the waterpark with the slides, and the Lazy river was a hoot.

Easily one of the most frustrating resort experiences I’ve had. The waterslides have a completely backwards policy where they restrict by age instead of height—and they expect you to carry your passport around the pool just to prove how old you are. ​The beach is a joke if you want peace and quiet. Expect to be badgered and harassed by water sports guys and souvenir sellers from sunrise to sunset. You can’t look at the ocean without someone trying to sell you cheap junk. Combine that with food that is the exact same garbage every single day, and you get a resort that is absolutely not worth the price. Avoid.

Anthony(bartender near smaller pool) was so amazing!! Always quick with drink making and super fun guy!(ask him abt the cool scar on his arm😝)

We stayed from 05/31-06/07. They work so hard to keep the Sargassum off the beach and actually had a great few days with very little sargassum. The staff and facilities are outstanding!! Kids (13-20) loved the waterpark. Pools were always clean and they ate constantly working on them to make them amazing. Tons of entertainment options. Food options are good and plentiful. Easy resort to navigate. Arcade is well worth the money. Some stand outs were the Butler service (Rafael took care of our party of 13 and was simply amazing!!) and preferred options were well worth it, but the main pool area was so nice and we ended up spending a few days there too. Easy transport from the airport and Amstar transport was great. Some shoutouts: Rafael(Butler) absolutely AMAZING!! Nelly and Ishmael (Preferred pool) absolutely AMAZING!! Preferred breakfast group (Jose, Juan and Ignacio) The bartender at the sports bar (went out of his way to make my drink request; name eludes me but he was running the bar on 06/06). Numberto in the UVC sales area was knowledgeable and respectful of my time. Even recommended another couple to him just based on that experience. Just a fantastic experience!!!

My family and I spent a week there the end of May. We could never been treated any where else better than we were there. Check in, house keeping, especially the restaurant staff. SHOUT OUT TO OUR TWO WAITER'S. Food was fabulous. This is on my list for a go back vacation.

The only bad thing I could say about this place was the pools close at 6. Other than that it was top notch.

Super nice resort and staff food was pretty good! Our only complaint was if your getting a double room the beds are super small, perfect for small kids but not two adults! I would suggest this resorts to a friend over all. 5/13/2026

I had my wedding at dreams onyx with 46 guests, and it was an amazing day and week for everyone! My husband and I have been to 2 other resorts in Punta cana, and dreams onyx is easily our favourite of the 3. The food was surprisingly delicious, especially for an all inclusive resort. As a foodie, I actually looked forward to trying out the different restaurants and foods for once at a resort. The resort was perfect for keeping our wedding guests entertained as on top of the typical resort amenities, there was a very fun water park, lively night life at the neighbouring adults only resort (breathless), events every night in the lobby area, coffee and gelato shop open 24/7, etc. The resort was not too small and not too large; I was perfectly fine walking everywhere but some people preferred to travel some places by trolley. Some small details I really enjoyed were there were no wristbands we had to wear or towel cards to keep for exchanging towels. They were also very accommodating for some of my guests that required room changes for various reasons. Restaurants were also first come first serve which I prefer over the reservation system. The wedding department was also amazing, and I have to thank our wedding coordinator Nicaury for all her help. The fountain gazebo where we held our ceremony was beautiful. We unfortunately had to move our reception indoors due to the rain, but still had a great time and appreciated the professionalism of the staff. My only criticism is that I'm not sure the 'preferred club' was worth it. For example we had a butler that I was anticipating more help from based on our experience with having a butler from a previous resort. I won't let this affect my rating though as it did not affect my enjoyment of the resort.

Nice resort, family friendly. Quiet mostly. Lots of pools, it had a water park with 4 slides and a lazy river. The food was mid for an all inclusive, could have been better, especially the room service (terrible). They had different shows and activities going every night. Adults without kids might prefer the Breathless resort next door. The two resorts share amenities and are both under the Hyatt umbrella so you can enjoy either side. The beach area and lazy river were the highlight of the trip for me.
