It’s not a designated zone—just a place where locals and visitors alike feel comfortable. Guidebooks peg the scene next to Convention Hall, but the shoreline’s social map changes yearly. Your best bet is to stop by a gay bar or a guesthouse and ask where people are gathering this summer. A beach badge costs $12 – $15 during the season, and lifeguards are only on duty when the badge is required. If you’re coming from New York, hop on the NJ Transit train; expect the boardwalk to be packed on weekend days and especially during Pride in June.

It is a wonderful beach to take amazing photos with the family. Seems like there is a lot of history here with the buildings that are around. The kids did like to take a little walk on the boardwalk even though it is a small one but it is a cute one and not too busy at the time of the year that we went.
