Very fun place with multiple bars, pool and dance areas. People are friendly and of every stripe and type, all are welcome. Only negative is that the DJs never play actual songs. They do constant mediocre house mixes that are very disappointing when there's such great spaces for dancing. When did DJs become more important than the songs we actually love? Whether it's Gaga or Charlie XCX or Micheal Jackson or Village People, why can't they play the original darn song unedited on occasion? You know, the ACTUAL song that people fell in love with, not some chopped up house remix that some self styled "DJ" thinks is better? I hope the Dunes sometime w8ll try a dance night that is simply a playlist of unedited songs people love to dance to, no house remixing. Might become the most popular night ever!!! :-)
Stayed at The Dunes for this first time this past weekend. The staff, and the regulars are so friendly. It felt more like a camp ground than a hotel/resort. The food, the drinks, the selection were top tier. The location to Saugatuck, the lake, and other area attractions lent for great adventures. The pool is magnificent and the care and attention from staff is peak. I can't recommend The Dunes enough, and I will be back.
Bartenders could benefit from more training. Covercharge management needs to be managed better. It was excessive to pay $10 for a club that is mostly empty of patrons.
