First Congregational Church (Big Red Church)

First Congregational Church, known locally as the Big Red Church, is a United Church of Christ congregation on Van Ness Boulevard at the edge of the Tower District. It has been Open and Affirming for more than 30 years, and the Fresno GLBTQ Youth Alliance meets in its Fireside Room. Its rainbow 'God's doors are open to all' display was vandalised twice in summer 2026, which made national LGBTQ+ news. Service times are on bigredchurch.org.
