New Sun Gate Motel

I was so happy to come upon this motor inn— very charming with paintings of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe – – I had the Princess Diana room. The manager was very accommodating and gracious – – Shan helped me get situated and even offered to take my bags to the room. I was pleased there are no carpets, and there’s bright lighting in the kitchen/bathroom area. The office provided ice upon request. I swam in the pool, even though it’s a little cool. Some cold therapy! I spent a couple of hours relaxing by the pool – – just what I wanted —this girl from chilly chilly Connecticut!

Roaches and bugs, mold, and the housekeeping lady complained because I accidently left the tissue wrapper paper out and said I left the room really dirty, as if the room was even clean to begin with. Grateful for the woman that makes breakfast and I think there’s a lady that might be the wife of the owner/ front desk man, she’s very sweet and friendly. I love that it’s Christian based and it seems like they love and support the vets. But overall I don’t like how the front office tried to press me about “leaving a big mess” when it wasn’t. And all the white towels are dirty.

We needed a stop over on our way north for one night. This place was perfect. Very reasonable. Old school hotel, comfortable and clean. Hot Breakfast was 2 eggs cooked to order sausage and toast also Coffee. Just fine for a free Breakfast. Staff was very friendly 😁

The manager is crazy. She has bestowed herself with the authority to make up random and strange rules and thinks she has authorization in a way that is intrusive and unprofessional. She shares personal information and gossip about guests to other guests. She threatens removal for unwritten and crazy “rules.” Ex: you are only not allowed to be use a bench (loc in an open GUEST seating area because there is one closer to your room. It’s not a big property… everything is near your room. We were told we had too many suit cases (4) and needed to give a $200 deposit because they didn’t like the look of is Former review: Staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating. The breakfast is really lovely, made to order by the owner everyday. A lot of love goes into making this property safe, clean and comfortable for all guests. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable. Highly recommend.

THE BEST EXPERIENCE!!! Sean at the front desk is amazing and the breakfast is incredible. The breakfast is made fresh for you upon order and we looked forward to it every morning. The room was super clean and comfortable as well. It’s very safe and in a great location! I can’t recommend this place enough. They are the embodiment of southern hospitality and so accommodating.

This is a great hotel to stay. The rates are good, the rooms are great, housekeeping is daily and thorough. Shawn and Mike at the front desk will make you feel very welcome and help you with any need. If you are looking for a great place to stay The New Sungate Motel is a choice you won’t regret.

I met the girl that was cleaning the room cuz I arrived early I think her name was Jamie, she was such a delay and so helpful. My issue is with the blonde woman that came by my after I had looked at the room she was so rude and disrespectful I don't know how anyone allows her to hold a job there. There is no way in hell I will ever stay there again because of her

I Waited for a little while to receive front desk support to check into my room. Other than that the service was decent. I worked double shifts at the time so I was up late at night and early in the morning. Around 2:30 a.m. I turn off the light to go to sleep. A short while later I turn the light back on to retrieve something from my bag and there was a small gathering of roaches next to the bed side. I checked out immediately.

So, I recently stayed here on a visit to Florida. The room was nice and very. Food was very good. The house keepers were friendly. Honestly, I would have given this place a 5/5 except for this one person, think her name started with a T, who was constantly yelling at people and being very rude to them. In one instance, she was yelling at someone saying they couldn't wear a normal looking bathing suit into the pool. I'm not sure if she actually works here since I never actually saw her do anything besides yelling. It was constant during my stay and may make me not want to return

I stayed in the "Marilyn Monroe"room for 2 nights. Price was very fair, nice location clean and everyone was pleasant.
