A Bar of Their Own

A Bar of Their Own opened in Seward in March 2024 as Minnesota's first bar dedicated to women's sports, and it quickly became a fixture of the local LGBTQ+ scene. Owned and run by women, the bar screens WNBA, NWSL, PWHL and college games across its screens, drawing a crowd that skews queer and community-minded. Beyond game days it hosts trivia, watch parties and fundraisers, and the kitchen turns out an approachable menu of shareables and sandwiches. It sits on East Franklin Avenue in the Seward neighborhood, a short hop from the West Bank and the light rail.
