Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort

This grounds are beautiful and our room layout was great, with great view. The room itself could have been cleaner. The food at restaurants was a "hit and miss". Service though was excellent.

This is the BEST hotel that I have ever stayed! Large rooms! Nice common grounds with beautiful landscaping and art sculptures. Three pools. Very good 4 star restaurant. And most importantly, great staff!!! Oh, and make sure to book a massage and spend the day at the spa.

Fate finally brought me to this property for an actual stay as I had to use an Amex credit by the end of June. As locals we had been here a few times over the years for holiday meals, and I always thought how fun it would be to stay in this lovely historic jewel of the foothills. We did a two night staycation during the week, rates were great given the AZ heat has kicked in and many tourists seem to stay out of our state when it’s triple digits. We booked a king Sonoran and I will first say that I loved the spacious, rustic chic room we were given. We were on the second floor and facing the Catalina’s and the pool along with the Hepburn-Tracey casita… so the view was nice. Initially I had hoped we would get an upgrade given how I booked via Amex THC and I also have iPrefer titanium level, but alas it was not in the stars ( I think an upgrade would have only been limited casita or king Sonoran with outdoor shower) which was fine given we truly enjoyed the room. The gal at the front desk said they were very occupied, which was actually not the case and I later found out they were 40ish %… just say none available right? Anyway, our room was wonderful and comfortable with all the amenities and a comfortable bead that I think had actual feather pillows! All of the staff we encountered was fantastic from housekeeping to restaurant/bar to grounds. I was able to stack my Amex and iPrefer status benefits and although they did not have an upgrade, was presented a bottle of wine in our fridge as the welcome amenity which was nice. For fellow iPrefer titanium members, they don’t do the daily F&B here but will give you a voucher for a complimentary appetizer which we took advantage of when we enjoyed their bar. They have three nice pools, one is open all hours (adult only) but we were daily fans of the Rincon pool by our room. Spa was out of order but who needs a hot spa when it’s 100 plus out! All in all we lived our stay and the property, its staff, history and the fun artwork all over the property. I would stay here again no question and recommend to anyone visiting Tucson!

My daughter rented the Library for a private dinner. The service was lacking, we had a guest go and remind them we had a birthday dinner. We did not have our drinks refreshed. The cake she ordered was not the correct cake. It was just the worst experience! We drove 2 hours to celebrate her special day and would never recommend to anyone for a special dinner event. She was treating her friends and her family to an evening to celebrate life, and everyone left feeling it was just awful. They were sorry for her. She called the next day to apologize and that is why you earned a 1 star review.
