Atlantic Bay Lodge

Good experience. Looked for a hairdryer in all the cupboards, and by the time I didn't need it anymore, I found it in the bathroom, so just look in the unlikely places. The kettle and bar fridge was very welcome. Not having microwave was a bummer. Stayed in a place a third of the price where kitchen facilities were available, didn't expect not to be able to warm food. The biggest issue was the price as quoted as a special Which I accepted on the booking platform, was not what was deducted, suddenly there were significant cleaning charges added separately, plus their rate was ex vat, when the others were Inc vat, so it was a bit of a surprise to see the deduction. It is conveniently close to the beach.

Beautiful spacious room with double bed, sofa and TV set, mini fridge, walk-in closet and bathroom with shower and toilet (8/10).

Very nice accommodation in a quiet and safe location. The two employees who are constantly in the accommodation are great and will help you wherever they can. David and his wife (the owners) are also very friendly, they welcomed us nicely and have supported us in all matters. It is only a 2 minute walk to the beach. It takes 15-30 minutes by car to get to the center of Cape Town, depending on the traffic situation. Otherwise the accommodation is very clean and nicely furnished, here and there it could do with some renovation. Some new furniture would also be appropriate. But all in all you can find everything you need and the house is beautiful, we enjoyed spending our time there and can happily recommend the accommodation.

The caretakers are overworked; they do the cleaning, cooking, and gardening.

Sadly not well maintained and the images need to be updated as the where misleading.
