Seoul Drag Parade
Über dieses Event
Die Seoul Drag Parade wurde 2018 von der Drag Queen und Aktivistin Hurricane Kimchi und Ali Vera ins Leben gerufen. Sie findet am 3. Oktober, dem Nationalfeiertag, als Straßenmarsch von Haebangchon durch Itaewon und zurück statt. Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos. Südkorea hat kein nationales Antidiskriminierungsgesetz, das LGBTQ+-Personen abdeckt, und die Parade bringt Drag auf die Straße bei Tageslicht, nicht nur in Clubs.
Sie hat sich zu etwa zwei Wochen voller Veranstaltungen entwickelt. 2025 fand die Parade am 3. Oktober bei starkem Regen statt, mit einem Gold-Thema, das von KPop Demon Hunters entlehnt wurde. Danach folgten koreanische Queer-Kurzfilme und ein Panel bei Uplift Seoul in Gyeongnidan am 11. Oktober, eine Halloween-Drag-Show bei Tageslicht im Rabbithole Arcade Pub in Haebangchon am 12. Oktober und eine Show bei Queen Dumb in Hongdae am 17. Oktober. Das einzige Jahr ohne Straßenmarsch war 2020, wegen Covid.
Der Marsch selbst dauert etwa eine Stunde, von 16 bis 17 Uhr. Updates gibt es auf Instagram unter @seouldragparade.
Wir konnten nicht bestätigen, ob eine Ausgabe 2026 am 3. Oktober stattfand, da bei unserer Überprüfung in der koreanischen oder englischen Presse nichts zu finden war.
