Seoul Drag Parade
About This Event
The Seoul Drag Parade was started in 2018 by drag queen and activist Hurricane Kimchi and Ali Vera. It runs on 3 October, National Foundation Day, as a street march from Haebangchon through Itaewon and back. Taking part is free. South Korea has no national anti-discrimination law covering LGBTQ+ people, and the parade puts drag on the street in daylight, not just in clubs.
It has grown into about two weeks of events. In 2025 the parade went ahead in heavy rain on 3 October with a gold theme borrowed from KPop Demon Hunters. After that came Korean queer short films and a panel at Uplift Seoul in Gyeongnidan on 11 October, a daytime Halloween drag show at Rabbithole Arcade Pub in Haebangchon on 12 October, and a show at Queen Dumb in Hongdae on 17 October. The only year without a street march was 2020, because of Covid.
The march itself lasts about an hour, from 4 to 5pm. Updates go out on Instagram at @seouldragparade.
We couldn't confirm whether a 2026 edition took place on 3 October, because nothing turned up in Korean or English press when we checked.
