Arthotel ANA Gold Augsburg

Absolutely not recommended. No room service. No breakfast. The room is in dire need of renovation. The shower desperately needs renovating. The shower fixtures are broken, the tiles are cracked, one shower door is missing entirely, and there's mold in the shower tray. The floor in the room has gaps. Unfriendly reception. One star is far too generous.

I can't vouch for the negative comments. I see that this company takes excellent care with hygiene measures. Furthermore, in my opinion, both the facilities and the ambiance of this hotel are worthy of a 4-star establishment. Only the check-in process could be smoother. A beautiful hotel deserves a good receptionist.

A fraud perpetrated against guests, and apparently systematic! This is not a hotel! Perhaps a boarding house. All information, whether on the website or on various platforms (Booking.com, etc.), is false and does not reflect the reality on site. There is no reception, the opening hours are incorrect, the premises are decorated with junk, and most of it is broken and unusable. The rooms are dirty, moldy, and catastrophically equipped. There is neither a spa area with a pool/sauna nor breakfast. Complaints are acknowledged, and that's it. The so-called refrigerators in the rooms are wine coolers, meaning a maximum temperature of 15°C! The water dispensers on the floors were emptied on the first day of our stay and were not refilled for 16 days. We requested room cleaning four times, and it was carried out twice. Fresh towels and bed linen were changed only once during our 16-night stay! The shower curtain was covered in red mold. The bathroom sink was clogged for three days, and that was already the case when we checked into the room. Everything around the windows was moldy, and there was a piece of moldy chewing gum stuck to the bathroom window. The floor and wall next to the toilet were speckled brown! The mattress was broken on one side, so you slept in a hole. The staff, when present at all, were completely overwhelmed. The cleaning lady was completely alone in the entire building for five days, and she doesn't speak a word of German! Access to and from the hotel was only electronic, and even that only worked sporadically. The elevator regularly stopped on the first floor, forcing guests to walk up a flight of stairs. The coffee machine in the breakfast room, which was available for free use, was constantly dirty and hadn't worked for the last five days. The pool was empty, and the sauna was switched off, but everything was open, and I pray that no children ever play there... the owner belongs in jail. Written complaints are not answered by the owner at all, and when they are, they only provide false information. None of the phone numbers work, and emails go unanswered. The booking platform, in our case Booking.com, is of no help whatsoever. We will now hand the matter over to a lawyer.

Luckily, we only booked one night! The reservation process was quick, and we were promised a room, swimming pool, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a breakfast buffet, all for €105 per night. There were no staff members on site who identified themselves. My email inquiry sent the day before went unanswered. So we were quite surprised when, after checking in, we found ourselves standing in front of an empty pool in our swimwear. I wondered why there was no information about the breakfast buffet. Now I know: there wasn't one. That would have been an important detail, since we had booked accommodation with a breakfast buffet. The entrance door is jammed and difficult to open, making it completely useless as an emergency exit. By high-speed internet, I mean being able to surf the web via Wi-Fi, which wasn't possible at all during our stay, forcing me to use mobile data. My email complaint also went unanswered. However, the full amount wasn't debited; at least they themselves realized that this was anything but reliable and competent. That was our first and last stay at an Ana Gold Hotel!

A budget-friendly hotel for a city break. The tram stop is within walking distance, and you can reach Königsplatz in just a few minutes. The hotel deserves a solid 3 stars in the official hotel ranking. The very friendly staff is a real highlight; it makes a hotel truly special. The room is basic and doesn't have a wardrobe, so be aware of that. The breakfast buffet is okay; there's something for everyone. I would definitely book it again.

I stayed at the hotel for several days and can say from personal experience that the value for money is excellent. I paid around €310 for 8 days in March, which is really fair for Augsburg. While the hotel isn't brand new and you can tell it's showing its age in some places, overall my stay was perfectly fine. Some reviews describe the receptionist as unfriendly. I can't confirm that from my experience. Her accent might make her speech sound a bit harsh, which could give a stern first impression. In fact, I found her to be very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I especially appreciated that she immediately addressed my Wi-Fi problem and even offered me a larger room at no extra charge, where the reception was excellent.

I stayed at the hotel for eight days and I have to say the value for money is unbeatable. I paid €317 for eight days in March, which is a very good price for Augsburg. Of course, you can tell the hotel is a bit dated, but considering the price, you really get a lot for your money. The location is excellent: right next to the tram stop, and you can reach the city center in about six minutes without any detours. The hotel is also right next to Kaufland and other shops, which makes the stay very convenient. The receptionist is mainly staffed by one woman who has a slightly harsh accent, which might make her seem stern to some at first. However, she is actually very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. For example, when I had a problem with the Wi-Fi, she helped me immediately. I also worked at the hotel for several hours during my stay and found it quite comfortable. Overall, I think the hotel is perfectly fine, especially for longer stays. My overall rating: 4.2/5 – mainly because of the strong value for money and the good location.

The hotel's location was very quiet. The entrance area and the spa area were visually appealing. The room was spacious enough, and the sink area in the shower room was very nice. What didn't I like about the accommodation? 1. There was absolutely no information about the pool being closed. We had specifically chosen a hotel with a pool, and then we couldn't use it. It was very disappointing that there wasn't even a small compensation or timely notification so we could potentially cancel and find another hotel with a pool. 2. What was very shocking was the fact that there was mold in the shower. Furthermore, the wooden floor was warped in several places, especially near the windows, which was probably due to moisture. There was a huge stain on one wall that looked like someone had spilled coffee on it. Additionally, the wooden toilet door had a very large and deep scratch. 3. The room's design and furnishings were somewhat uninspired. It felt very empty and haphazard. The radiator looked quite old and rusty, and the window grille had a lot of flaking paint. Overall, it was a rather uninviting place. Conclusion: In summary, the price-performance ratio is unfortunately not good at all. For around €60 per night, one expects more. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel.

For June 2025, we booked a room at the ANA Gold Hotel in Augsburg for a business client. One of the two nights was subsequently canceled. We received written confirmation that the corresponding amount would be refunded to our account. For over six months now, we have been trying unsuccessfully to get the hotel management to transfer the outstanding amount. The entire process has been extremely difficult. Despite the written confirmation of the refund, we are still waiting for the payment. All our attempts to contact the hotel management have been ignored. I have had numerous conversations with hotel staff and the general manager, but these have not led to a resolution. The hotel staff were always friendly, but seemed just as perplexed as we are.

Four weeks in advance, I booked and paid for a room with breakfast. I chose the hotel primarily because of its spa. One week before my arrival, I received an email informing me that both the spa and breakfast were no longer available. When I subsequently tried to cancel the room, I was told that a free cancellation was not possible. Only after repeated complaints was I promised a refund. However, I still haven't received it after three weeks. My advice is: stay away from this disreputable hotel – and under no circumstances pay anything in advance. Update: Seven weeks (and numerous emails) after the cancellation, I finally received the refund. However, this no longer affects my review.
